We are transplants to the City of Rowland Heights and tried their public school system. After only one month, we knew that we need to transfer our kids to a better school. Luckily we found Southlands Christian, this school does not focus only on academics but take character building and morals seriously. They have excellent teachers and support staff. The gem here is the principal, from what I heard she was a former teacher. Every interaction we have with her is positive, we can tell that she always have the students' welfare as priority number one.

This is a wonderful school! Preschool - 12th grade all on one campus, with caring teachers in a safe, nurturing environment. High academics, character training, and as a Christian school, Bible classes and chapel are included! It truly would be difficult to find all that Southlands has to offer elsewhere.

The teachers at Southlands are hard working and professional. They embrace the learning environment and encourage students to work hard and excel academically. Students who embrace the opportunity to learn will grow academically and in character.

Our middle school students are the reason I love coming to work every day. The enjoyment they have for learning and just seeing you in the morning is unmatched and the love and leadership they show for their school is inspiring. I currently serve as the Vice Principal of the Middle School at Southlands and have been so blessed by the community that has developed over my 5 years. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us in the years to come. Parent involvement is amazing and I have worked closely with the parents of my students as both a teacher and an administrator to accomplish many things including fundraising goals, the correcting of student behavior, implementing individual learning goals, and so much more. Parents take such an active role in our PTF and truly work to support the teachers and staff. The middle school sports program has enjoyed numerous successful seasons in all sports including 5 championships in the San Gabriel Valley league over the last 6 years. Coaches focus on the importance of competition and “winning well”, but more importantly how to compete in the spirit of sportsmanship and dealing with adversity and defeat in a Christ-like manner. Our arts program is outstanding and this last year I had the pleasure of teaching a group of young ladies who participated in and won “Best of Show” in the annual ACSI Technology Fair for their work on a Point of View movie they made about a girl growing up in middle school. One of the things I look forward every year is our 8th grade annual trip to Washington D.C. I get to see students open up and make friends they can only make on a trip across the country, all while enjoying and learning about our nation’s rich and diverse history through visiting and touring national monuments and memorials. The smiles and stories I witness each year make this one of the most rewarding parts of my job. Overall, Southlands is a school that is dedicated to the development of the “whole-child” by loving them as Christ does, guiding them in character building, and challenging them academically to become the unique leaders of tomorrow that God has created them to be. The values that we instill in our students are built on and strengthened each day by our dedicated teachers who work tirelessly to reach each student where they are regardless of ability level. Our class sizes make it possible for teachers to customize lessons to a specific child if needed, which leads to better retention of knowledge and an understanding on the child’s part that “I can succeed”. Being a part of this team has been an experience that has grown in me every sense of the word, and the people I get to work with on a daily basis are part of that growth.  Eagles Soar!

School is just trying to make money all the time, if you are a international student you better not come tho this school, the teacher in this school treat international students different than the local students, also the food is provided in lunch is very expensive and taste terrible. Again!!! Do not think this is a good school for international students!!! If the Overseas Affairs Service Agency recommend this school to you is because they get money from the school if they bring students in. They were trying to make money from international students and then kick the students out at the end or the middle of the semester.
