Montessori School of Corona

As an Alumni parent and Grandparent of children who currently attend MSOC, I couldn't be more happier and Proud! The school has enriched our children with their family environment, attention to growth and learning. Building a foundation of excellence in preparation for greater aspirations and education that our young ones will carry in life. I'm enthralled with the Directors and their continued motivation for success that benefits our students and community.

I had a great time from pre school to second grade everything was great everyone was friendly and I always looked forward to school. It still breaks my heart that I was ripped out of that school without being able to tell my friend I was leaving who which I had no contact for 5 years but one visit and a phone call. I went to a new school where no one liked me and it took a couple of years to be socially acceptable. I miss being the little girl in overalls and pig tails running around the playground with my friends. The fact that I was accepted as who I was was amazing where as now you have to like rap and hip hop and where short shorts and it's really annoying. I would highly recommend this school up to second grade. And if teachers are reading this hi Mrs Annie Mrs Tiffany and Mrs Vivian! I bet you could guess who this is

This is a terrible school, or at least a school with some terrible teachers. We dropped our daughter off for her first day of school and there were adults there but not one person welcomed her to the school. We had some trepidation at leaving her but figured that was normal. I showed up to the school a couple of hours later to check on her and it was an ordeal being allowed to peek in on her. I finally got through and saw that she was happy on the playground but not being allowed immediate access to my daughter was worrisome. At 2 1/2, she is potty trained but needs help with her clothes, a fact that was discussed with the teacher at drop off. We showed our daughter where the bathroom was for when she needed to go. I then told the teacher I would pick her up at 12:30pm that day, with the understanding that lunch ended at 12:30pm and nap started at 12:35pm. Upon arriving, all 20 or so of the other children were laying on the floor for nap time with my daughter sitting at a table by herself with her lunch pail closed in front of her, clearly waiting for me. I figured she had been there for just a few minutes given the schedule so didn't worry about it too much. What did bother me was that the teacher yelled at me across the room, "She had an accident!" I didn't want my daughter embarrassed any further so did not discuss with her then. Day 2 went a little better at drop off as at least one teacher welcomed her and talked to her. My husband asked about the accident on Day 1 and learned that she had gone into the bathroom but nobody was paying attention to help her with her clothes so she peed her pants. At pick up, the same thing happened as on Day 1 where she was sitting at a table alone with nothing to do. When I asked, the teacher said that lunch was over at 12pm. For two days, they left my child there to sit alone for 30 minutes with nothing to do and didn't think to mention it to me. The look on her face when I picked her up was heartbreaking as she didn't understand why I wasn't there for her. She looked like she thought she was being punished. Add to that the fact that her hair was in her face and she had food all over her face and it seems to me this school collects a check (a BIG check) and neglects the children. Needless to say, we did not return and found another school that is the complete opposite in how they treat her.

Montessori is a great school I went there it's really nice lots of nice teachers, one of the best schools I've been to THANK U MSOC

My son has been going to "Montessori" School of Corona for the last 3 years, and it has been a wonderful experience for him. His teachers really care. It is a safe environment and he has learned a lot. The classes are not too big, and there is a teacher and an assistant teacher in each class to give more individual attention. That said, this is NOT a Montessori school. Despite the protestations in the posters and brochures for the school, students are not given time to explore on their own or to direct their learning according to their interests. Assignments are rigid, often in the realm of "busiwork" worksheets, and all students at each grade level are expected to do the same assignments in the same way and at the same time (like at the "traditional" or public schools). Even projects given are rigid and do not leave much room for individual expression or interpretation. While it is a good TRADITIONAL school it is more like a "prep" school or a public school (with caring teachers, a safer environment, better teacher-student ratios, and less "teaching to the test" than goes on in public schools) than a Montessori school.
