Small class sizes and engaged teachers make this a perfect alternative to the large public school and even private school factories. Hunter and team have developed a great model to bring high quality instruction and personalized attention to kids that may not get what they need in the larger schools. They are flexible and work with kids' different learning styles to enable them to be academically successful. Happy to have found this school.

We, as parents, believe its import to be able to connect and communicate easily with our child's teachers and the school administrators in a productive way - you get that at W & R! The smaller class sizes means the teachers actually get to know the students (and families) and get to make real connections with them. The administration takes an active interest in the students, their issues, interests, and problems. Our children still need guidance in this new stage of independence and often don't want it from us, they get it here at W & R. As a parent of two children coming from a small school background, this is the perfect fit for bridging into the big world.

William & Reed Academy has exceeded all of our expectations as a private school for children in grades 6-12. This school is inclusive and maintains a student body with a wide array of interests and talents. William & Reed’s approach to learning with face-to-face and online classes prepares this generation’s students for the future. The innovative scheduling and wide array of class keeps students engaged and challenged. The school is fully accredited and the staff’s credentials are impeccable. This up and coming private school recognizes that each student is an individual and treats them as such. The kind and personable atmosphere is beyond welcoming. As progressive as this school is, they have also incorporated the traditional basics with honors and AP classes, athletics, foreign language, student counsel, a yearbook committee and much, much more. The convenient location and transportation options make this school a must see for those who need to consider after school logistics. The staff routinely queries parents and students for their input and arranges unique and exciting field trips and off campus learning activities. A big thank you to Hunter Reed Cluthe, Head of School, for his educational passion, kind heart and for making education what it should be!

As a student who experienced William and Reed Academy, I thought the academics were poorly taught. They do not have a guidance counselor to remedy major anxiety. I'm not going to say names, but my two friends left this school right after I did. Mrs. Blevins the ELA teacher there, she taught excellent Language Arts for high school students. I was trauamatized there, and still am traumatized. We went to a city meeting to talk about getting a new building. We spent our time to go and help them, no use. They do not have placement options for your children. Mr. Hunter is a nice man, but I don't think he had the experience to run a private school. Please only send your children here if they are high school students who can handle not considerate teachers.

Although our local public high school has a reputation for excellent academics, it was not answering the needs of our daughter as a whole person. The administration and teachers at William and Reed worked closely with us to ensure she received the high level of education she desired as well as focused on actual learning instead of countless hours of homework. Our daughter is getting a better education with a healthy balance in her life. We would recommend William and Reed Academy to any student looking for a high standard of education in a caring environment.
