Disappointed to say the least, sent my daughter there for GSRP. A great program however, the classroom was chaotic all the time, unorganized. Thus turned out to be a glorified daycare at best. No structure, my child almost never brought structured projects home , the kids barely had recess. At the end they sent home a notebook with 3 picture's in SMH I was very disappointed The state should pull the money they are receiving for this program. My son had a wonderful experience at his GSRP which was in Detroit Public Schools it was a million times better. I LOOK FORWARD TO HER 1ST YEAR OF KINDERGARTEN I will continue to work with my child through the summer.. I was glad it was over DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD THERE FOR GSRP especially Mrs. Walker class absolutes terrible

My experience with Trinity Early Childhood program was very similar to Jennifer's which is why we are choosing to go elsewhere with our second child. My son has left the preschool program 3 months ago and has been doing well ever since. At Trinity, he was often singled out for trivial things which led to an increase in negative behaviors and negative attention. Where he is now, we hear nothing but great things and he is so much happier.

If your child doesn't have any learning or social challenges, it's an ok school with a great network and parents. However, if your child struggles with attention, focus and energy, this is a horrible school. Because it's private, they do not have the resources, experience, or skill to work with high energy kids. The early childhood program is also lacking in certified teachers and has huge turnover and retention issues. For the last three years, every time my child moved up, that teacher left and they had to find a new one - THREE years in a row. Most of the staff are uneducated or only hold an associates degree, which again is ok if your child is mild-mannered but not if your child needs behavior management, where much of that is learned towards the end of a BA program. On top of all that, one of the teachers got pregnant out of wedlock and had to send a note to the parents apologizing for it and reminding the parents that all children come from God even those born from parents out of wedlock...it felt like were were back in 1950! One of their core values listed on the website states "Trinity Lutheran School is also a place where students, faculty, and parents make mistakes. Conflicts arise and behavior may, at times, not be in line with our purpose and Christian values. Therefore, our school is also a school of forgiveness, where we try to learn from our mistakes and seek out ways to help each other. " We did NOT find that to be true AT ALL. In fact after only a week of challenging behavior due to staff turnover, we were given notice to find a new school for him. Here is an exact exert from the director of the Preschool which acknowledges that the turnover is an issue, however, is not interested in helping him overcome the issue: "I believe the change with Mrs. Nowicki leaving us, having a transition waiting time for a new teacher, and now further changes with Miss Turchick establishing herself in the new classroom has been too much change and Kyle is having such a hard time with it that we can no longer redirect his behavior. We have given our best, but cannot continue." So much for being a school of forgiveness and seeking out ways to help others. Extremely disappointed in this "Christian" preschool. Apparently God doesn't love all children. Only the ones that sit still and don't talk. Please feel free to reach out to me for further discussion especially if you are thinking of sending your child to this school.
