Wilberforce bears its name like few other institutions could. It stands as a shining beacon of grace and truth in a world that often embodies neither. Teachers that are truly invested in the lives of their students, a commitment to the whole student, a joyful Christ centered ethos, and a challenging curriculum all culminate to form an excellent learning environment. Our oldest son, this Spring, will be in the first graduating class to have experienced all four years of a Wilberforce upper school education (second graduating class over all.) He has already received acceptance and scholarship offerings to a variety of universities and has an excellent foundation for a robust college experience, thanks to Wilberforce’s commitment to excellence. All of our boys have truly treasured their years at Wilberforce. We couldn’t be more thankful for this school.

The Wilberforce Upper School provides a rigorous and personalized classical Christian curriculum that emphasizes language, mathematics and the cultural heritage of the Christian West as revealed in the great works of history and literature. Each day begins with morning prayer- a time to focus individually and collectively on the time of study and inquiry to follow- and the week ends with chapel- a time of sharing, prayer and worship. These activities build a trusting and supportive community for both faculty and students to thrive emotionally and intellectually and to achieve to their highest potential. In addition, the small class size allows for students to participate in meaningful ways in both the arts and athletics and to be known and valued as individuals with unique gifts and abilities. The Upper School provides college preparation counsel, planning and resources which has enabled my Class 9 child to set long-term goals and has decreased our family's anxiety about the process of college application and admission.

When my seven year old came home jumping up and down with excitement over the fact that he was going to start having spelling homework the next day, I knew we were at the right school. Academic excellence is continually presented as both desirable and achievable in an environment of support and grace. In addition, my middle schooler has found a place where he can enjoy learning, participating in sports and debate, and being himself while being supported by both teachers and peers. This is all done in a context of growing in relationship with God and serving Him in all that they do.

A remarkable school. We transferred our son to Wilberforce from the Princeton public schools and it has well exceeded our expectations. Whereas the Princeton schools sent him home with ninjago and dc comics books, Wilberforce has made him fall in love with Winnie the Pooh and the story of the Titanic. Whereas the Princeton schools were unable to deal with an uncontrolled fellow classmate who sent him to the nurse from being punched repeatedly on the ear, Wilberforce provides not only a safe but even a joyful learning environment. As Christian parents, we're, delighted to see him come home from Wilberforce with a striking knowledge and enjoyment of the Bible. We couldn't recommend Wilberforce more strongly, it is a superior choice academically, socially, and spiritually.
