Our children have been attending Aurora Waldorf School since they were toddlers. We have been incredibly happy with the quality of teachers and staff that support our children daily. It starts as early as 18 months with the parent tot program where parents attend a class once a week with their child. In this classroom environment we are able to talk about raising a child and what parenting areas we may need advice in. I found it to be very supportive as a new parent. The children then grow into a wonderful nursery class, flourishing to a kindergarten program that focuses on fine and gross motor skills. The children are actively engaged and moving while developing life long skills. They are fully ready when first grade arrives to sit and focus on developmentally appropriate academic skills. It's been a beautiful experience to see my children grow and flourish within this environment. If you have an longing or interest in seeing this school, it's worth your while to take a tour.

How I wish I knew about Aurora Waldorf School sooner! We found that in the public school setting, the educational expectations and curriculum for our youngest varied quite a bit from the education her two older brothers had received. Our 3rd grader was stressed out, crying over homework and came home from school completely drained of energy. Although I had heard of Aurora Waldorf School, I was completely uninformed about what set it apart from other schools. After learning about the Waldorf approach to education in a book I was reading, my husband & I did some research. I attended an open house and within minutes knew this school was the perfect fit for our daughter. Their developmental approach to learning, attention to the physical need for movement to sustain energy, the amazing nutritious lunch program and the warm welcoming environment…I could go on and on. I will say that if I knew then what I know now, all 3 of our children would have attended AWS for their entire learning experience. We now have our happy child back. Her confidence has grown and she comes home excited to tell me about fractions, a new playground game, or recite tongue twisters in German! We could not be more thankful that we have access to a school like this in our community.

We have experienced this from the scope of early childhood years all the way thru the middle school years, with all four of our children. We happened upon the Aurora Waldorf School in 2003 through an email recommendation. We then took a tour and simply fell in love with this style of educating and encouraging a human's capacity and growth. The combination of the experiential learning, the daily outdoor inclusion and the character building skills that are focused on and developed from Nursery school on, felt like the only way to guide our children. We're grateful to have discovered this local community of educators and care takers.

AWS has been a welcome addition to our children's education. The concept of "child first" is refreshing and has had a tremendous positive impact our both of our children's development. I would recommend the Aurora Waldorf School to any family.

Our family is incredibly grateful for the well-rounded and warm-hearted education our three children received at the Aurora Waldorf School. Now in 8th, 10th, and 11th grades, they continue to love learning and live with curious and thoughtful eyes. The early years are precious, and our children were honored in this place.
