John Sullivan, head of lower school was supposed to retire at the end of this school year, but he left abruptly. So Mick Gee is taking John's place for the remainder of the school year. My child attended this school for 3 years. Mick called me last month saying my child hit the enrollment administrators child with a stick and asked me to pick my child up. I got upset... what about a time out? I told Mick I was going to remove my child from the school entirely.. but then I changed my mind.. I figured there were 60 days to the school year left. Well, within one week, Mick, along with help from teachers ...turned my child into a "behavioral problem". We spent over 50k on tuition in the last 3 years, only to have Mick tell me in order to keep my child there for the last 60 days of school, I need to take my child to a counselor! Dealing with Mick left me crying day and night the way he treated me. And I have suffered from insomnia since dealing with him. After our loyalty to this school, this is how I was treated. P.s , I did not use my real name on here to protect my son and his reputation from the character assassination plot you created against him. Your first priority is child safety? My son came home with visible bruises on his back from being pinched by a boy behind him in chorus. In rainbow room, another child sprayed a water gun into my son's eyes... yet the parents of these boys weren't told they had to get their kid counseling or leave. Besides my son was just rough housing. .but it was the administrator of enrollments son...and that was the problem. Too many politics here. Glad I made the decision to take my son out...he is thriving at his new school!! I'd love to talk to you too...but to who? Mick? No thanks.

Would not have succeeded in academics or career had it not been for them. Seriously, this is a fantastic place with fantastic teachers . I credit my success in my career to them. I'd have never done a PhD had I stayed in public school and not attended AC when I did.

Allendale Columbia is the most diverse schools in the area. Everyone is warm, welcoming, and friendly including staff/faculty, students, and their parents. AC is very inclusive in the sense that it has a strong sense of internal community and belonging while also taking efforts to support and improve communities locally and internationally. Kids are truly inspired and passionate about their work and develop a life long love of learning. AC provides endless opportunities for students and if students can dream it they can almost always do it at AC!

We love AC and chose the school for our family after vetting many private schools in the area. AC's culture and values fit our family well. The embracing of "S.T.R.E.A.M." (science, technology, RESEARCH, engineering, arts, and mathematics) and the ideas of entrepreneurship and innovation are evident in pretty much all of the diverse opportunities and experiences offered to students of all ages at AC. We are enjoying raising our son in the AC community and look forward to enrolling our daughter in the nursery program when she is 3. It's such a warm, welcoming, and exciting environment for students and their families.
