If you would like your child to attend a grade school/middle school that represents educational excellence - Leadership that demonstrates Christlike behavior then you should RUN from Cathedral. The Principal, Mrs. Biggs, treats the school as if it is her own dictatorship. She is cruel to those that seek financial aid and will go out of her way to try and humiliate anyone who disagrees with her opinion. She sets a poor example for the Catholic faith and educational system.

Cathedral School puts a strong emphasis on technology and I definitely appreciate the hands on opportunities my child has in STEM. Their efforts to win and maintain their credentials as an Apple Distinguished School are evident throughout the educational experience. Day in and day out I am extremely pleased with the passionate, caring teachers and staff. The school culture is very nurturing--from the system of partnering the preK, kindergarten and first grade children with a year long buddy from the older grades to the fact that the administration is on a first name basis with every child and the church staff is kind and approachable for both parents and students alike. Cathedral School is definitely a hidden gem in NW Portland!

I am incredibly impressed by Cathedral School. My child started in their pre-kindergarten class and we will be continuing her education at the school. The student/teacher ratios are unbelievable in a time when public school classrooms are bursting at the seams. The focus on the well rounded student--art, language, music, technology, math, PE and science--from even the youngest grades is unmatched. Most schools are cutting back these critical learning experiences, yet Cathedral School continues to find ways to keep adding academic programs. My child is not just learning at Cathedral School, she is thriving. And the community of parents and teachers is incredible. I encourage families, Catholic or not, to explore the school as an option. The learning opportunities are unparalleled.

A wonderful centrally located school. Both of our daughters attend this school and I would strongly recommend it to anyone.
