I am so proud to send my daughter to ILA. It is a great curriculum and my daughter has changed dramatically since her start this Fall. She has learned by leaps and bounds and her social growth has been something wonderful to witness. I truly believe this is in credit to the teachers and leadership and their dedication to the students at ILA. All teachers are credentialed in the preschool programs which was huge for our family! They are truly dedicated to the child's development both academically but also basic life skills. The school also is very good about keeping families in the loop on curriculum, events, and my favorite-a class blog with pictures and videos of the students and what they're doing! ILA is a very professional environment dedicated to the growth of each child. I am happy to be a part of the ILA community!

I looked at several day care locations near my home for my young daughter. When I learned about ILA I realized there was a way I could keep my daughter safe, engaged, and educated during the day and at a reasonable price. It was the best decision I have made and I cannot recommend it enough. Learning a second language at a young age has both short and long term benefits and is something that no other day care can offer.

We have had our 3 boys in the school for the past 3.5 years and are so happy with our decision. We were looking for a language immersion and multicultural experience in Oregon and certainly found it. The teacher/student ratio is great and the teachers are just wonderful educators. The philosophy is rooted in educational theory and their outcomes on all measures are excellent.

My granddaughter has spent three years at ILA from age two - five and it has been a wonderful experience for her, seamlessly learning and enjoying French and the francophone culture. The school provides more than just French language learning , but also a diversity of children and instructors, all of whom come from all over world, and not just the Francophone world. The school's two directors, Massene, from Senegal, and Patricia, from Paris, have a deep commitment to the school 's pedagogy and curriculum, even for the littlest ones. The school has an unusual 7 weeks of "academics" followed by two weeks of "Immersion through culture" where the kids have a more relaxed day with free play and an hour or two of fun enrichment activities like French cooking, yoga, gardening, circus arts, soccer, etc. The teachers all have advanced degrees and are native speakers, with additional certified teachers in music,Spanish, and PE teachers to teach the kids in their specialty. Field trips in a school bus every month to places like places like OMSI , Portland Art Museum, pumpkin patch, etc add to the adventures every month. Also appreciated how the school encouraged outdoor free play in the school 's two different playgrounds, one in a wooded setting, the other next to the school. My granddaughter had previously gone to another school where the only playground was inside . Because of financial issues, my granddaughter will be attending a public kindergarten in LO, but I was pleased that the school offers after school French for children who have been through an immersion program. So she won't have to lose her beautiful French accent and understanding of the language. She has gained something very special attending ILA- becoming a world citizen.
