Normal teenagers are forced to interact among other teenagers who are low functioning. As a former parent of a student who attended it was sad to see them be involved in such an environment as this. I do not recommend this school.

The school is more focused on hampering the abilities of the students then helping them achieve the ability of their peers. They're even making a college substitute to allow students who have 'graduated' to continue with the cut down, barebones curriculum they have provided. Many of the teachers do not even have teaching degrees! I still struggle with science after spending three years there, as I had been taught only barebones Physics, and I was given a Biology class that felt like it was for 7 year olds then high schoolers. This school does not help students with academic or mental issues grow to be able to function in a normal college or academical setting. The Janus School is more about accepting that the students they have enrolled will never be able to work in a true college setting, unless they look for assistance elsewhere. I would suggest for all those interested, that they should look elsewhere unless your child does have severe issues that need tending. I think the Janus School has wonderful counselers and those willing to assist with social and study issues, I just believe that their curriculum does not allow students to grow academicially. - From an old Janus Student affected by the educational side of the school.
