Google actually lists this place as a school!!? What a joke! New Hope Academy claims that they can enroll students diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, but if that's the case, then why couldn't they handle me most of the time and never even TRIED to help me through tough times the way that parents would expect a school to, instead you know what they would do: SEND ME HOME! Now, if NHA was called "No Hope Achieving" instead of "New Hope Academy", then sending a misbehaving student home would be perfectly ideal. Their excuse was always that they have a very small school, and there's no place in the building to put somebody who is acting up, but I always had the same response: If other schools can do it, then why can't you? It may not sound terrible for someone who really hates school, but even if an individual really does hate being in school (which was not the case with me, as I really love being in school & learning new things), missing over a months' worth of days (that's right, I was sent home over 30 times!!) is just not right at all, especially not if NHA calls themselves a school. Well, they are a school, but they show good reasons for them to become a day care or babysitting service! They tried to emphasize academics, but the director would always allow me to take walks outside of the building (usually through Doylestown Borough) probably just to keep me out of the school building in case I start acting up. Also, if I did act up, they would send me home (like I already said), but then they would request that I stay home the following day for what they called a "Healing Day", which really should be named "I [NHA staff members] need a break from said-pupil for a day" which was really the reason why they made me stay home the following day (even though they refused to admit it.....). Not only is the school very, very small on the interior, but there's another likely reason why they couldn't handle me and always sent me home: Most (all sounds even more ideal, but I'm leaving it out because another student (a 9th grader/freshman) at NHA also acts up at times, and they often can barely handle him as well) of the students at New Hope Academy are always acting the right way, meaning they can focus on the lesson for an entire class period, act in a way that does not ever require redirections, and avoid getting themselves worked up, and when I've observed classes without me in them, the teachers can teach without a single toe out of line. But that's NOT who I was, and if they are so used to perfection (the teachers didn't know how to handle me because they don't often get students that need redirections like I do), then they should NOT advertise that kids with Asperger's are welcome!! A word of advice: DO NOT SEND YOUR DAMN CHILD HERE IF HE/SHE HAS ASPERGER'S SYNDROME OR IF SHE/HE HAS A LOT OF SOCIAL SKILLS ISSUES! DON'T WASTE YOUR F**KING BREATH TALKING TO ANY OF THE STAFF AT NHA IF YOUR CHILD HAS EITHER ONE OF THOSE MENTIONED ABOVE!!
