Small school, Big Idea! Both my kids attend LFS it's the only school in the area that remained diverse, has such dedicated teachers that truly have your child best interest at heart. This school strives to empower a child and allow them to be who they are. I love how the parents are so involved and tight net community.

Our sons have grown up at Lansdowne Friends School (from pre-K through the upper grades) and it is truly their home away from home. The entire community of students, parents, teachers and staff is warm, welcoming and engaged. We particularly value the school community's amazing diversity, much of which stems from its location that draws students from University City and West Philadelphia in addition to communities in eastern Delaware county. The academics have been incredible with lots of hands-on learning and an emphasis on critical thinking. The development of "soft skills" like conflict resolution, respectful dialog, active listening, and teamwork is fully integrated with the traditional academics. And LFS remains committed to recess twice a day, even in the upper grades - which for our active boys has been essential! (Even better, unless it's pouring rain, they're always outside for recess.) In short, it's a gem.

Lansdowne Friends School is the most amazing, community oriented school around! It is an extension of our family, and the teachers care so much about their students. My son is developing nicely, both academically and emotionally.
