My daughter learns differently. She needed extra support that a local catholic private school refused to offer. Great Lakes celebrates individual differences and it shows on my now 7th grader's happy face everyday. She is flourishing both academically and socially. The administration is responsive, engaged and very supportive. The teachers get to know each student's strengths and weaknesses well and instruct accordingly. We couldn't be more happy with this school. Thank you Great Lakes!

From a High School Graduate from Great Lakes Academy: Just completed 10 years at Great Lakes Academy and I'm about to start the next chapter which will bring me toward my professional life. The program at Great Lakes Academy allowed me to obtain my High School diploma, it wasn't without sweat and effort, but I've made it! It is with emotion that I am leaving Great Lakes Academy because it's an extended family for me. Through this incredible journey, I met brilliant teachers and remarkable students that allowed me to progress academically but also, I felt supported and surrounded. For me, school was one-day-at-a-time situation, I saw myself as a tightrope walker: to cross a long wire, without seeing the end, and to advance one step at a time through the violent winds, the fog, or the pouring rain, while the wire pitches sometimes towards what must be done, and later, towards what can be done. These years at Great Lakes Academy were rich in discoveries and will remain etched in my memory forever, as will the methods and principles instilled by my teachers: curiosity, love of learning, work ethics, efforts, and perseverance, the will to question oneself... So many treasures that will undoubtedly be useful to me all my life. For all these reasons, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the entire teachers and staff. I will long cherish fond memories of my time at Great Lakes Academy which gave me so much. Thank you, for the opportunities. I am approaching a new stage in my life with confidence and dynamism. To the Great Lakes Academy direction and all the teachers, please accept my sincere gratitude. For any students that are struggling in a "regular" school setting, do look up Great Lakes Academy, they might change your life as they did with mine.

For our family, the road to Great Lakes was like running on a hamster wheel. We all were exhausted, confused and going nowhere. When you are desperate to help your child and know that they themselves are heavy-burdened and confused as well, we parents are willing to try just about anything. But I'm thrilled to report that this time, this thing,, this place called Great Lakes Academy held the key to unlock the door leading to progress, understanding, support, growth, patience, confidence, parent education, empowerment and finally, A FUTURE for our son. My son has now been a student at GLA for six years. That means six years that GLA has partnered with us to invest in our son. Is this a school for every child? Of course not. No school can provide that. But, I encourage every and all interested parents to take the time to consider GLA. You would be cheating yourself of an incredible possible fit. And isn't that what we all crave? Parents and students long to feel connected, valued, supported, encouraged, a part of something, that they fit in and have found a place to call there own where they THRIVE. When I drop my son off to school at GLA, I leave feeling confident and at peace. And then when I pick up my son from GLA, he feels it too.

This school has changed our son's life. Our son struggled for years. We tried 3 schools and homeschooling and even therapy... nothing helped him much. The staff here CARE about their kids and know how to help children like our son -bright and willing, but VERY anxious and needs some extra attention and help. There is no "one size fits all"... every kid is helped as that child needs. My son is not only catching up academically - he is blossoming socially and emotionally. I don't have a big enough thank you for Great Lakes, their administrators, teachers and staff. If you're on the fence about this school, and you have a child with ADHD, anxiety, or who is on the spectrum... who is wilting in typical schools, this place is the school home you've been looking for.

Amazing passionate professional administrators. Teachers are highly-qualified and receive continuous training. Staff meetings are frequent and every teacher and administrators know every single student. Friendly, compassionate and nurturing. College prep academics with additional one on one teacher - student additional tutoring if needed. No student is ever left behind academically. Parents are always informed and renweb/FACTS is incorporated so parents have access to everything their child is doing on a weekly basis.
