Gateway Academy, despite what some others wrote, is an incredible treatment facility very much worth your time to look into. Having been to many programs and facilities, as a visitor and or patient I can tell you with full confidence that Gateway is a great program, run by an amazing set of people. I still keep in touch with a handful of staff members to this day and would definitely recommend this to parents looking for a place to send their child. What makes Gateway different is the very personable approach. You feel like part of a big family. This is where a lot of other places fail, often times a patient will feel a part of the 'system', this is where Gateway excels. I recently visited the campus and they have come a very long way in improving the structure as well as the treatment plan. I really enjoyed going back and seeing how far they have come. Gateway has been an instrumental part of my recovery and for many others.

I entered Gateway as a scared and depressed teenager who was transferred from another treatment program that was not a good fit. I found a caring and supportive staff and was able to get the therapy that I needed in a safe environment. While it is of course hard to be away from your family for an extended time, I am so grateful for the fresh start that Gateway gave me, and I believe the staff, therapists and owners really do care about the students here. The outdoor weekend program was also a big help for me and helped me gain confidence through the different skills we learned. I am so thankful to all of the Gateway team I worked with.

As a member of the Gateway Academy team for over two years, I have witnessed first hand the supportive environment that exists at this school. The therapeutic, academic, and residential teams work together in helping students achieve their best. I have seen students come to Gateway behind in high school credits, emotionally struggling, and socially checked-out, only to progress through the program and become a better version of themselves. Teachers, therapists, and staff are committed and invested in helping students succeed. The owners are on-site daily, working to create a culture of care and support. I have never worked in an environment as supportive and accepting as Gateway Academy.

I worked at Gateway Academy for nearly 5 years. I worked as a lead mentor, a residential manager and in the school with the academic team as a teaching assistant and service learning teacher. This is the best residential therapeutic boarding school I have worked at. I have been in this industry for 20 years and currently own and run a young adult transition company. The owners and therapeutic team helped mentor me to continue to help students who may need one more final level of assistance in a college setting. Every interaction with the boys at Gateway by staff, therapist and the academic team is intentional and promotes treatment focused on healthy development of adolescent boys using a wide range of therapies and experiential education. The vision one owner explained during one of my initial trainings was preparing Gateways boys for a successful life after Gateway for when they are 20, 30, 40, 50 - Gateway Academy does just that. The owners are onsite daily at Gateway and can often be found dining with students and tagging along with them on activities. The staff trainings and monthly in-services are insightful and provide staff with resources that help create a unique healing culture for adolescent boys. I have a son who is 10 and could likely fit the profile of a Gateway student in a few years. It's comforting to know if I needed to get him the level of support Gateway offers I could send him to Gateway Academy and know he would be safe and receiving the absolute highest level of treatment and care.

Program is a joke ran by a bunch of hippie female witches who have nothing better to do than torture children. The environment was toxic and pretty much violated civil health codes. Day staff used withholding food as a punishment and completely disregarded the students wants or needs. The OEEE monkeys were a bunch of pothead orangutans who were sadistic uneducated frittatas who were too hipster to have any regard for safety of their students. MY therapist herself was a bigot and and a bitter feminist who pretty much that all students needed to be locked up or sent to another treatment program. This place is the literal incarnation of hell but with just a bunch of dried up hags instead of demons. I would give this place 0 stars if i could but sadly i cant.
