My daughter went here for almost a year. We moved across the country and I very much miss this school. My daughter loved it (she cried every day when it was time to go), and she misses it now. Ms. Patricia is an outstanding teacher and rigorously maintains Montessori standards. The school is well-lit, organized, and clean. The children learn how to pour their own water, wash their hands, wipe up their own spills, and clean up after themselves. They get a good mixture of outside play and indoor activities. They each get a chance to be the botanist (spray the plants), the veterinarian (bring crickets for the class frogs), and other important roles. I am very much a fan of the Montessori philosophy of a student-directed education, and this is what the children get, but they still learn important skills. At her current school my daughter's teachers are always so impressed with her ability to hold her pencils and paintbrushes the right way. I really can't say enough good about this school. Ms. Patricia isn't always the best about making expectations clear. For instance, it wasn't until my daughter had been going to school for a couple of weeks there that she asked if my daughter brought socks with her, and I felt like I had dropped the ball by not bringing socks, even though I had no idea I was supposed to. But while there have been a few things like that, Ms. Patricia is excellent and I am so glad I found this school. I would urge anyone to get their kids an education there for what is really a bargain price.

My son has been attending since the school opened in September. I have been absolutely thrilled with not only his learning and progress, but the staff and materials used at the school. The montessori teaching principles just make so much sense, and I feel that my son has benefited from them in so many ways, not just academically. He is more confident, independent, and just overall excited to learn. I love the facility, unlike the other review posted. Its cheery, clean, and also focuses the attention on learning because of its well thought out simplistic design and layout. The materials are not cheap, they are very well made, thought out, and organized. From the moment my son walked in, he went straight to work with the Montessori materials provided. He knew just what to do with them, because they were made just for his age! Because of that, he can take control of his own leaning, he has a sense of responsibility in it. And HE LOVES IT! Every day I pick him up, he is smiling and excited to tell me about his time there. Not one bad thing to say. Highly recommend!

I absolutely LOVE this school. My son attends a Maria Montessori Academy Kindergarten in the morning, and until my husband lost his job, he was attending Children's Garden in the afternoon. He learned SO much there! The materials are definitely NOT cheap, and you must have an understanding of Montessori in order to fully appreciate everything that this school has to offer. Montessori is non-competitive individualized learning. They learn concretely before transitioning to abstract with emphasis on the whole child, not just academics...This school is doing all of that for these children, and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Happymom obviously did not do her homework on the Montessori method! You will be blown away by what your child will learn!

First I must say that Happy Mom really must know nothing of the Montessori Method. I have worked at a Montessori school and when I first saw this school was opening, I was skeptical that is would be a "real" Montessori school/method. When I went for my meeting with the teachers I was very impressed with the facility and materials. Everything is true Montessori. Things are meant to be basic and simple, it's calming for the child, it helps them learn and concentrate. The materials are AMAZING learning tools! It's too bad that HappyMom has know idea the learning her child could have done at the school, and that she wasn't willing to do the research before writing a review or giving her child a chance at a great experience. My daughter has been doing the Montessori method since she was 2 and she is now in the first grade and doing great. I now have my son in this preschool and I am amazed at all that he is learning. The teachers are great. Ms. Needra has been doing this for a lot of years and she does it so well! I was so happy to find an affordable Montessori preschool. Good schools should be available to everyone, not just the rich, and I think this school is very reasonable.

A Calm Learning Atmosphere. The method is definitely Different from the typical preschool method usually used. When ever I visit during the class, the children are calmly and intently working on their own little projects. They master both Large and Small motor skills by doing simple, yet sometimes difficult tasks. My Son is so happy at the end of class to show me what he's been working on, or to sing me a new song that he learned. -- For about a Month he came home telling me everything there was to know about spiders. As well as the different kinds of spiders, Clearly something they were studying as a class. --- He also get's very excited and proud when ever he helps to teach one of the other students how to master a skill. The Class room itself is very large and open with plenty of room to spread out a project, and is a very comfortable space to be in, with small chairs for reading, or relaxing in, as well as plenty of tables for when the kids need a solid surface to work on. I judge the success of the school on how Happy my child is at the end of a school day, and how excited he is about what he learned that day.
