Use to go to school here and the only teacher I have positive memories of was my Resource teacher.

Negative experience. Obsolete, gloomy facility, cranky non professional staff, below average 6th grade teacher. Moved my child to a different school and he’s thriving. I regret even giving it a chance!

I went here from 1st grade to 6th grade and i loved every minute of it. Just an FYI there IS a special needs class (there is one for kindergartners and another one for all the older kids!) I forgot the two teachers names though, and there IS a tutoring class taught by Ms.G and Mrs. S (the class is called resources, i think). Both are really nice and Ms.S teaches a class that helps kids who excel in traditional classes. There also is mandatory classes for (almost) everyone, music (Mrs.L), Computers (no clue), P.E. (no clue), Library (Mrs. B), and Counselor (Mr.B). I really miss all the teachers I had there and they are all really kind. Over the summer they do STEM classes and during the school year. Check out their website and their Facebook page if you want to know more!

This school, shouldn't even be called a school, it should be called touture land.

If your kid is already doing good in school, they'll probably be alright. It is a clean and safe facility with a courteous and professional staff. But if your child has special needs, or you really really really value primary education you should probably research your options. Hillfield primarily serves residents of Hill AFB, plus the small neighborhood between base and I-15. (airline drive triangle). The state and district are both underfunded and overstretched. Its actually a pretty decent school compared to the other county public schools in the area, but the primary issue is that Utah public schools are really crappy. School ran from 0845 to 1530 M-Th, and let out at 1330 on fridays. The kids had no dedicated art, music, or fine arts programs. No tutoring or special needs programs that I could find, no special education program from all appearances, and all the classes seemed incredibly overcrowded. I grew up poor in western Kentucky, but my schools back home are better funded than Davis county schools. last year (14-15) My childs' class started at 34 students and swelled to 37. The teacher had a volunteer parent, but no other assistance. My daughter was struggling with reading and writing, but she was lost in the herd and the schools' attitude basically boiled down to "She's not failing her grade, so its' not a big deal." The school told us that if we re-enrolled her for this year, they'd monitor her for 90 days, and if she was still struggling then they would intervene and attempt to get her some help, but it might take 30-45 days for the request for help to process. We decided to enroll our daughter in an off base public charter school instead, it doesn't charge tuition, but it is inconvenient having to run back and forth off base every day.
