There is no better school than this one. Teachers are handpicked for excellence, and they end up friends for life. Kids just flourish here with careful, individual attention. The Values system grounds everyone in kind behavior and those values are encouraged and embraced by everyone. If your child is languishing in public school with a dead-in-the-water education, this is your school. My two kids have loved every day they've gone there, working well ahead of the County. I just wish Merritt went through high school.

My daughter has attended Merritt since she was a year old. Being an educator I was picky about where I placed her for child care. She received more than great quality care, she is easily 6 months- a year ahead and extremely well prepared for Kindergarten. We have loved most of our teachers, and as with any school, there were a couple we weren't thrilled about but they still took care of my daughter as if she was their own. She is always happy and excited to talk about her day. She also talks positively about her teachers. The parents at the school form strong relationships and welcome anyone to get involved. The classrooms and administrative offices have an open door policy. I can always talk with the preschool director, school principal, executive director, or anyone else at almost any time. I would reccomend this school to anyone with a child from infant-up. The administration is committed to quality care adn education and work closely with the parent group to meet the needs and concerns of parents and staff.

Our son is in the infant room at Merritt Academy and he comes home happy everyday. He loves going to school and is well taken care of. His teachers are really wonderful, loving and great at communicating how his day went. Each day we take home a daily report with a list of all of his feedings, naps, diaper changes and all of the activities that he participated in. He is learning a lot and is growing and developing in a happy, safe environment.

This place is terrible. Teachers and assistants are always quitting. Some teachers are emotionally abusive towards preschoolers. I've witnessed this first hand. The ratios are stretched to the highest possible in fire standards not quality of attention. Just a horrible way of being directed. Don't waste your money. Observe a few days for yourself and ask employees how they're treated, and watch out for mice in the computer labs.

Best school in the county. I have had my children there for over 10 years.
