Ad Fontes Academy

Our oldest son has been going to this school for the last 2 years. Our family has been blessed by the quality of education that he receives. He excels in the school because he is challenged with higher academic standards and he is in an encouraging environment. His reading ability is way above public school standards which is partially contributed by the school's desire to have their students excel in reading. We have two more sons and we plan on putting all of them in there when the time comes. The school encourages parents to participate and get involved in activities during school time. I have gone in to read to the my son's class and attend their chapel time during the school week. It's obvious to me that the teachers who are there love being there and they sacrifice part of their paycheck to work there. The teachers are paid less than their public school counterparts but they love what they do. We have seen the leaders of the school pour themselves into the school. They deeply care for the students who go there. I would highly recommend any family to be a part of the school. Do keep in mind that they are a Christian school so the Bible is important to their learning. Our family believes that it is the most fundamental part of their learning since the Word of God touches every facet of a person's life. They welcome all families but I think the families who get the most out of the school are those who put the most in. It feels like we are part of a small family even though we don't see many of the other parents as often as we would like. I personally struggled with the idea of paying the cost of tuition for my first son when he started Kindergarten. Their tuition assistance covered a lot of the bill since we were in a period of financial duress during that time. I now view paying tuition as an opportunity to "not just pay a school for tuition" but to bless a ministry who sacrifices for the good of our own family. I know that not everyone feels that way about paying tuition but I would encourage you to try it if the school is a good fit for your family. It took me a couple of years since I am a stickler with our family finances. "Where your treasure is, there will be your heart also" We love Ad Fontes and hope that God blesses them for the years to come.

This is an answered prayer. I was in search of a school that truly incorporated Jesus in every aspect. Ad Fontes fosters academic excellence and prepares the students for the Kingdom and eternal life. The whole staff truly cares for the students and supports their growth in every way. I highly recommend this school to any family looking for academic excellence and Christ centered education.

Ad Fontes has been such a blessing to our family for the last several years. Each of our four sons has grown exponentially both academically and spiritually. I am especially grateful for the way the teachers know and love them individually. Ad Fontes is truly special.

My daughter had been attending public schools from kindergarten through 6th grade. She was an honor roll student, and did really well in school, however when it came to taking the SOL's she was not placing very high. This made me very concerned and I started looking into other options and found out that private and independent schools required assessments to see what level your child is academically. After taking the assessments, once again she was not doing well in grammar and other areas. I visited several top schools in the area and made a decision based on academics and cost. This was one of the best fits for our family. Both my daughter who is now a 7th grader and my son who is a kindergartner attend the school. The school has been an amazing blessing to my children and they are learning and excelling everyday. We are a minority yet my children feel the same, no exception like it should be. We are so happy and pleased to see that this school really cares about their students and families.

Our son has attending AFA since Kindergarten. He is now 14 and ready to enter AFA HS. Our choice to go with AFA years ago was premised on the worldview we wanted our son to understand--that God is central to all things, and that the purpose is to not just know who God is, but to have a relationship with Him. AFA does a fantastic job of hiring godly teachers that truly love and pray for the students, and model that relationship with God. I would be remiss if I did not mention the outstanding education, great community, approachable staff, and great kids. My son has learned to think critically, to take on hard tasks, and has had an education well advanced for his grade. We love AFA!
