My two children have been at Baylake since the three year old program and my son is now a seventh grader and my daughter a second grader. The reason I initially chose Baylake was for the small class sizes but my kids have gotten so much more than just that. Baylake is a loving and wonderful place to be. The curriculum is challenging and the teachers treat each student like their own. The teachers are always accessible and available to speak to parents and will help in anyway to make school a positive and successful experience for kids. I have watched my children thrive and really come into their own identities because of the nurturing environment at the school. They have a quiet self confidence that shines through in everything they do. If you're looking for a state of the art building and grounds type of school, then Baylake is not for you. But if you are seeking a school that considers the whole child and encourages them to grow in each facet of their personalities, then Baylake is the right choice. There is no "perfect school" but Baylake has been the perfect place for my family.

Baylake Pines is a wonderful private school. The classes are smaller so that the children have a close relationship with the teachers. All faculty is extremely personable, friendly, and very hands on with each student. I have had nothing but excellent experiences with all of the extra curricular and special programs offered. It's a great place for small brilliant minds.

I loved it there at Baylake and I always will

My daughter attended Baylake from pre-K to 7th grade. This year she is going to a Virginia Beach public school for 8th grade. This was her choice, not mine. She gave me rational reasons for this move and I respect her intelligence and motivations. Mrs. Eckert and Mrs. Graves have been wonderful in terms of calling me whenever there was a problem and we had a few of those - especially in the lower grades when I separated from my husband. They have worked with me to deal with those difficult situations. The teachers are great. Everyone knows everyone - it is a small community. I find that the courses in the upper grades are challenging. My only comments are that Spanish should also be offered (although we love Madame Kincaid) as frankly we don't that many French Canadians jumping the fence and the science textbooks need to be updated. To his credit, Mr. Muha teaches outside of the books in order for the kids to be current. I am going to miss Baylake. Hope this was helpful. Best regards, Sandra
