A combination of good and bad. Our family booked a cruise to Southern France and Italy through Brighton Travel. While the trip and the excursions were fun, we had a lot of trouble that should have been avoided and was not addressed by the agent at all. First, I feel as though they should have suggested that the family *not* land into Barcelona the *very same day* that our cruise departed. (To be honest, I myself wondered about this months before we left.) One part of our group--four people--were stranded in New York thanks to the weather, which would not have been an issue had they been scheduled to arrive a day early. Because of this they missed the ship's departure. This trip was booked with virtually no room for error. After emailing the agent about this problem, they did nothing to reroute this group. My sister-in-law spent two hours on the phone with Delta to get a new flight into Nice, where they could catch up with the ship. It seems to me that the travel agent should have been the one on the phone with the airline to find the best options. Later, after everyone was together again, the family was scheduled to go on an excursion that this agency scheduled. When we arrived, there was no tour guide. It turns out that the travel agent did not realize that the ship was now docking in a *different city entirely*, so our tour guide was not there. *We* had to contact them, using valuable international roaming minutes, were able to get the guide to our port (again, without any help) and ended up beginning two hours late (and thus cut our excursion in half--we literally spent ten minutes at Pisa.) The cruise company showed us that they had moved to this new port well over a year ago and communicated that fact clearly. My wife and I stayed later in Barcelona, and Brighton Travel did a good job finding us a nice hotel, the Hotel Dante. I would say that they do a fine job in the setting up of a trip, but seem to not to foresee trouble, nor do they do much, if anything, to help when trouble does arrive, which seems to me to be one of main points of a travel agent.
