Truly shocked by the actions of one of the "black belt" members of this establishment. At 7:40 pm on Monday, June 3rd, me and my family were leaving the Boathouse restaurant in Port Moody. Our mood was instantly spoiled when I saw one of the members of this establishment (wearing a blue kimono) driving a large truck - cutting off a young couple when they were driving across the Boathouse parking lot. This individual (who also had his daughter in the passenger's seat) began cussing and attempting to ram the young couple's smaller hatchback. This then escalated into cussing with this so called black belt jumping out of his car and attempting to intimidate the younger male into a physical confrontation. There were dozens of witnesses, and everyone was shocked after the incident. The so called black belt's license number was DT6217, he was in his 40's, and he was of Indian descent. Sempai Hong, please teach your students to respect other human beings as based on your website "instilling respect and honor" is one of your club's true values. Please tell this individual to take off the kimono right after training to not make a mockery out of your dojo as this shines a light on your dojo in a very negative way. Do not recommend this establishment to anyone, unless you wish your kids to learn cuss words and learn aggressive , non-respectful behavior.

My son has been going here one year and it is highly enjoyable. My child loves it! Master Hong is very good with children and as any parent knows that is a difficult thing to keep kids interested and improving. He teaches for the long game. Incremental improvements and every child is very different as such they progress differently with the different skills - forms, confidence, attitude, self-defense, etc. It's worthwhile for a kid to try it.

My daughter haves loads of fun when she comes here. She’s been doing Hapkido for 3 years and is still motivated to do better!😊

I started Martial Arts here 3 years ago. Master Hong was a very welcoming person and a tremendously good teacher! As i progressed through the belts i made friends, learned new kicking, punching and self defence techniques. every year there is a HONG'S HAPKIDO NIGHT and if you work hard enough you can get a cool medal. We also have clubs and special days. I'm in the leadership club and it's LOADS of fun. When your in the leadership club you get to help with little kids learn basic moves. We also have a buddy day where you can bring in your friends and do hapkido all together for free! I think this place is WICKED fun and I would recommend it as the number one martial arts spot. This is one of the best places you should go to if your wanting to add a warrior flare to your personality. HYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Friends: I have been relatively fit for most of my life but never really engaged fully with team sports. After starting a family, I slowly fell out of shape and it became more and more difficult to stay on a work out program without interruption. I went as far as buying exercise equipment to make exercise more of a priority and accessible 24/7. I wasn't able to remain consistent and my goals were never met. I started Master Hong's Hapkido in March 2016 after my daughter had achieved a Green Belt. I was impressed after seeing tremendous changes in her sleep, mood at rest, appetite, healthier choice in foods, etc., but most importantly her physical ability to perform cart wheels, multiple styles of kicks, punches, sprint and jump over obstacles, defend herself, take a person down and place a person in a submission hold. I ended making excuses and found the courage to join - I currently hold a Brown Belt. I attend Hapkido twice a week and workout 7 days a week. At the age of 47, I am in the best shape of my life and I have to thank Master Hong and all of his students for the support, encouragement and training. Earlier this year, my wife joined and now we are truly a Hapkido Family! Look deep inside and connect with your courage, end the endless excuses, join Hapkido and you will see a 100% transformation in your abilities, health, confidence and lifestyle - guaranteed.
