Often times people that can do things are terrible at teaching them. Sometimes people who can teach, teach because they can't really it. Mitch is rare in the sense he is excellent at jiujitsu, and gifted as a teacher. Great atmosphere and lots of great guys willing to help you learn.

I can't say enough good things about north South Jiu Jitsu. I tried out a free class the end of October, 2017 and I haven't missed a beginner class since. The people who train at North South are awesome and very welcoming and the entire atmosphere in the gym is great. Mitch MacDonald is a wonderful coach and one of the best instructor's I've ever met (my profession is Elementary school teacher and I used to be a swimming instructor, Lifesaving Examiner and a swim coach - so I can sometimes be a little judgmental of other teachers/instructors). Mitch is not only kind and professional but, also, extremely approachable. So glad I tried out this sport and gym!

North south is a top notch academy. Over the last year I've learned so much, lost 40lbs, increased my range of movement and trained with great people.

Mitch is a very good coach. Very technical. The classes are a lot of fun it has a great atmosphere.
