Awful treatment of my daughter and I. My daughter was 1 yr away from black belt. For a long time she was being verbally abused, insulted and even hit and kicked at one point by other students. I took my complaints to the owner/head instructor when these happened. Usually these were the students who were her special pets and she always showed favoritism too, So even though she preached no bullying she would let it go when these certain ones did it to my daughter. It started taking a toll on my daughter. It got to the point where the instructor said if I complained one more time we would have to leave. Seriously? You can't complain when your child is treated this way? She wouldn't even talk to the ones doing it since they were her favorites. So we sat and put up with it. We figured we would put up with it for the final year, my daughter would earn her black belt and we would leave. Then another situation arose so my wife and I did have to go in and have a talk. Another parent caused the trouble this time. We were told we had to leave. She said since we were offended by everyone. Offended? I didn't like my daughter being picked on. Then I threatened to sue so 2 days later she sends me a letter with a lie. Changing the reason to say because I had been threatening many members and staff I am forced to leave. Now it became a different reason. That wasn't what was said before. I never did any such thing. Before it was because I complained one time too many and I was offended. I tried getting ahold of the President but was informed he doesn't get involved. Some organization when the President of a Karate place thinks he's the President of the USA and can't take the time. The secretary/treasurer called me twice. The 2nd time he said that both us and the other party that caused the problem we complained about had to leave. Yet he lied. She and her daughter are still there. I did nothing wrong. My daughter did nothing wrong. We were the victims. The ones verbally bullying my daughter gets away with it due to favoritism and my daughter gets thrown out and has to cry for months when she was so close to accomplishing what she worked so hard for in almost 4 yrs. It's not her fault she wasn't one of the instructors/owner's special pets or was favored over others. Just wasn't fair. No integrity here. Nothing like where my daughter goes now and has started new. However it took her months to mentally get over this. She packed all her belts and medals she earned since it hurts her to see them. The awful thing was what they did to her was the instructor had the nerve to tell my daughter it was my fault she had to leave but she knows better. Tell that to a little girl who was picked on when she knows her dad stood up for her.
