Systema Russian Martial Art by Vladimir Vasiliev

Comical. A fraud. A con job etc. There are so many ways to describe this "con job" but true martial arts is not one them. After buying my "2 class intro" I decided to buy a year membership. I drank the Kool Aid this place produces and pretty much flushed almost 1k down the drain. After training here for one year I basically could defend myself against ...well...an opponent who will "dance" with me. The moves are choreographed and this placed has an almost "cult" like feel where you basically "job" for your opponent. It's not real folks. It's all a dance much like Aikido etc. where your opponent works with you offering no resistance. What's worse with this place is that they convince you that you can repel gun attacks, knife attacks, etc. and it will get you KILLED!! You will also hear "testimony" from other students who took Muay Thai, Kali etc. but truth is I know some of those students. They basically took 1 or 2 classes and are passed as experts on those martial arts and they will tell you how superior RMA is to any other arts out there.. Truth is a true Muay Thai guy would absolutely murder a RMA guy. I learned this the hard way in my first boxing class where I was peppered with punches and no manner of hocus Russian pocus would help me evade straight American boxing. The knife defense is not funny though. The Rambo wannabes are wholly convinced that they can defend a knife attack. A rather new student of Kali DeLeon in Toronto showed me that I would get killed by a proficient knife fighter and his advice to me "If you see a knife, run!!". So there's that. These guys are pro knife fighters and their advice was to treat knives as serious as a heart attack where RMA "plays" Rambo with them. Anyways if you want to go in and play "Rambo" and dress in nice army fatigues with over weight accountants be my guest. If you want to learn a real martial art and get in shape check out the martial arts that are successful in UFC. This place is a joke... a joke that can get you killed.

I have been with the Systema for over 10+, Vladimir and Valeria are most decent and loving people i met in my life.

OK training very time consuming but Vlad and his wife are awesome!!

Systema taught by Vladimir Vasiliev is by far the most profound thing thats happened to me in my lifetime. I consider this martial art as more of a way of life than a martial art. Its helped me in numerous ways, psychologically and psychically. Vladimir and his wife Valerie are the kindest and most welcoming people , they share all their knowledge without hesitation. If you want to try something different, something new, this is it. I relish each an every opportunity to travel from Texas up to Toronto!
