I have been a constant student of aikido since 1981, and I have studied with this teacher since the dojo opened in 2006. Lau Hiang-Lai Sensei follows the philosophy and principles of Yoseikan Budo as asserted by the late Mochizuki Minoru O'Sensei. I have been learning Tai Chi as well with Lau Sensei, since 2011. Jiseikan means Place for Self Improvement. It is inclusive, welcoming and effective.

I am a former student of this dojo and would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to try Aikido. There are classes for all ages and experience levels. If you drop by the sensei is happy to let you watch a class and you can try one out before signing up.

Training with Sensei Hiang Lei Lau was an experience second to none of you have the patience and wisdom to listen and learn you will know that emphasis on technique is not a waste of time I should know I was a former student up until recently due to the distance I can no longer attend but would highly recommend it to everyone.

Fantastic place for everyone. It's like a second home.

This dojo (and teacher) are simply the best I've ever trained at. I've done 5 or so styles over the years, and none have ever had anything close to the level of instruction that this school provides. Mr Hiang-lai Lau is an excellent teacher, and takes his position very seriously. He teaches every single class, and does very well instructing children, as well. His schooling emphasizes technique instead of raw strength, and it really makes a huge difference. Thanks, jason
