I have been training with Master Gauss for over 1.5 years and love it! While he can be a tough instructor who expects 100% from his students, his classes are fun and laughter is encouraged! It's great to train with a wide mix of ages, body types and skill levels. His facility is first rate! Training in Modern Arnis has taught me and my young boys some very useful real-life skills. I would highly recommend Master Gauss Martial Arts Center to everyone!

Master Chuck Gauss is an extraordinary martial artist and teacher. He spent many years learning the art of Modern Arnis from the founder of the art, the late Professor Remy A. Presas and has been entrusted, along with others, with the awesome responsibility of passing along this wonderful martial art. He is extraordinary at teaching the concepts of this art and adjusting the teaching to the particular needs of a student and doing so that is easily digestible and understood. His mission is to equip students with real life self defense skills. What he teaches is incredibly practical. I highly recommend Master Gauss Martial Arts Center!

Master Guass' Martial Arts Center is a great place for anyone looking for martial arts training. The facility is clean and has plenty of room for training. The location is very easy to find and isn't too far from the main highway. The staff and students are friendly and helpful. Nobody has a "I'm better than you" attitude which is common in martial arts schools. Tuition rates are considerably lower than many surrounding schools. This martial arts center is not out to rob you. All aspiring martial artists or experienced martial artists should train here! Why? Master Chuck is one of the most experienced martial artists and self defense instructors in the world. The martial art of Modern Arnis is suitable for ANYONE. I think every martial artist should train in it to be honest. I was introduced to it a few years ago and Modern Arnis has changed my whole perspective on what the martial arts are and can be. I've been involved in Tae Kwon Do for 16 years and since I began training in Modern Arnis, it has improved my understanding of my traditional martial art in ways I cannot even describe. Modern Arnis is called the "art within the art." It applies to all styles. I don't get to learn from Master Chuck as often as I would like, but every time I do I feel like my understanding has increased on many different levels. Do yourself a favor and train with Master Chuck! He is very kind, knowledgeable and extremely talented. If you are in the surrounding Westland area or even an hour or two away, visit Master Chuck to improve your martial arts/self-defense skills, gain confidence and know that you got your money's worth.
