My son started attending Asheville Sun Soo Tkd in 2011 when he was 4 yrs old and entered the Mighty Tigers program. I watched the instructors operate with a great mixture of group and one-on-one instruction. I noticed they were both friendly and firm with the kids and took interest in each one with a great mixture of instruction and fun. Since that time my son has earned his black belt, but more importantly, he has developed into a young man who is confident, has character, understands the value of hard work and how to take instruction. I believe that his practice and the instructors at Sun Soo have made a significant impact on his development and maturity. This is not just a Martial Arts School, this is a place for people of all ages to experience personal growth that will directly affect the quality of their relationships and life. The owners Tony Morris and Michael Dickinson, along with their team, have created a space for someone to come and grow as martial artist, but more importantly, develop as a person inside of a community of people with a shared purpose.

I thought doing martial arts in asheville, nc would be allot of sparing and too focused on the fighting aspect. What I found at Asheville Sun Soo TaeKwonDo is an amazing community of friendly people, and the best workout of my life. This is crossfit to the MAX! Tony Morris and his staff of instructors are top notch, and teach a very well rounded traditional form of Martial Arts that focus on form and conditioning as well as mechanics of sparring. The best part is the whole family is enjoying it! My little boy is 4, my little girl is 6 and my wife and I all love it! I can't say enough about what a great experience we are having here!

I am writing this review from a variety of perspectives. First, as a parent. My son struggled with his behavior in school and at home. He needed to be involved in physical activity and connect with other kids, but was having trouble getting along with others in group sports settings as well as in school. When he began taking TaeKwonDo at Asheville SunSoo, Master Tony Morris made a commitment to help him become more self disciplined, respectful and in control of his behavior. What a difference it has made! He now is making A’s in school, has stopped any aggressive behaviors, and has made many friends. Additionally he has been attending classes regularly and staying fit and healthy. All of the instructors at Asheville Sunsoo have had a huge role in his success. I am very grateful Next, as a student myself. I made the decision to begin my martial arts practice for many reasons. I had no idea how life changing it would be. The camaraderie and friendship of the other students, the support and encouragement from the instructors and the community, and the feeling of being a part of something extraordinary is invaluable. Additionally, my confidence and ability continue to grow. I am also finding to be an excellent t workout. Lastly, practicing martial arts has had a positive impact on my mental state. It has helped me to be more positive, and to do a lot of self discovery. Lastly as a fitness professional, (I am a certified personal trainer, certified group exercise instructor and certified aquatics professional) I am extremely impressed with Master Morris and all of the instructors for their extraordinary attention to detail in correct movement, form and safety. Master Morris is a brilliant instructor as far as correcting movement, inspiring and encouraging, and pushing people past their limitations. I also appreciate the instruction in self defense, which I hope I never have to use. Lastly, I will add that my husband, son and I all have an Healthy activity that we can do as a family which we enjoy tremendously. Thank you Master Morris and all the instructors at Asheville SunSoo.

Our family was still fairly new to Asheville when we signed up our son to practice Tae Kwon Do at Sun Soo. At the time we were also considering a move back across the country to Colorado as we were having a hard time adjusting to our new life. However after signing my son up, and having my daughter join as well, we noticed that Sun Soo offered so much more than a top notch Tae Kwon Do practice. What we had found was a warm and caring community; a place where people care about the other people on the mat with them. We had found a reason to stay here in Asheville. I soon followed my kids onto the mat and began my own practice. I love being a part of a community that truly cares about each other.
