My two boys and I have attended classes for about 2 years. The instructors are very friendly and tailor their teaching to the age and developmental level of the student. As a child psychiatrist I value the fact that in addition to learning self defense my kids are learning the importance of respect, discipline and self control. I frequently encourage parents of my patients to consider enrolling their kids in martial arts.

I've been taking classes here along with my son for the past few years and it's been a very rewarding experience. Sempai Fred Manzano is an excellent instructor who exercises great patience with the younger kids, while still challenging everyone to be their best. Like anything, you get what you put into this, so being present and consistent with classes is key to development and Sempai Manzano is great at following up if you are absent or need additional time and instruction. If you're an adult looking to dive into karate or if you're looking for an outlet that will develop skill, discipline and self-defense for your kids, Okamoto's is a great place to start.

Both of my sons have attended Okamoto's for several months. We have the highest respect and adoration for Senpai Fred Manzano. He is patient yet firm with my children and they have the utmost respect for him. Okamoto's Karate has taught my boys self confidence, positivity, social skills, how to protect and defend themselves, and above all else, the value of respect. Senpai Manzano believes in all the children and truly cares about each one of them. As a parent, I trust him to guide, discipline, and challenge my boys. We plan to continue attending Okamoto's School of Karate for many, many years and would recommend it to anyone. The parent room in the front of the dojo gets a little crowded, and it would be great if we could eventually expand it so there was more room for the parents, but that is a small price to pay for such an amazing dojo! We love Senpai Manzano, Okamoto Sensei, and all the amazing families we've met at Okamoto's School of Karate.
