If you are considering karate for yourself or your child, look no further than KMA. Our two sons have been training with Maria, Laura, Kevin and the team at KMA for over 5 years now, and as we are on the cusp of our oldest about to test for Black Belt, I felt a need to post a review to let anyone looking know, not only should you absolutely consider karate for your family, but that there is no place like KMA. This is a community, where they teach to the whole person, the whole body, the whole self. Discipline - mindfulness - strength - positivity. When my kids started, they couldn't even jump, hop of skip - now, they can run, kick, defend, and all with a positivity beyond my expectations. Choosing to be a part of the KMA family has been the best decision we could have made for our sons, and we look forward to being a part of this community for years to come.

I absolutely love KMA and all the instructors here! My son started at KMA about 3 years ago and my daughter recently started. The instructors are great with children and they truly care i greatly appreciate each and every single one of them! They take their time to explain to each child the moves and techniques they use and break in down in a way they can understand.

My son started KMA as a very apprehensive four year old. He's 12 now and a strong, confident black belt with a plan to get his second degree. This studio has become our second home and our first community. The instructors and owners are gifted, inspiring role models who teach not only martial arts, but also instill values, leadership and confidence in their students. They are positive, encouraging, mission driven human beings and I feel lucky to count them among my extended family. If there were 6 stars, KMA would get 'em!

KMA is the heart of a phenomenal community, led by two extraordinary women and a treasure of great teachers. My son has been studying there since he was 5 years old and it has supported his growth in every area of his life. The tenants and foundations they teach upon has given my son life-long skills for success. The martial arts technique is spot on. The philosophy is spirit building. I’m so grateful to this school. It’s taught my whole family so much.

My son and I both earned our black belts at this dojang. We trained here for over seven years and I recommend it to everyone! The instructor team is remarkable. Each one of them walks their talk. Master Turnhout and Ma'am Laura have created an effective program in which every student is encouraged and expected to give their best. The environment is one of fun and support. KMA is a real community; everyone is welcome and every member wants the others to succeed in their own journey. When I began the program I thought I'd just try it out, get some exercise and maybe learn some self defense. At that time I thought earning a black belt was for other people. But I fell in love with the training, the community and the way I felt as I continued to earn new belts. As they'll tell you: a black belt is simply a white belt who never quit! This program is fun and effective and is for children AND adults (each in their own classes). Learn new skills, improve concentration, get a good workout, progress at your own pace.
