They might be champions but, expect your inexperienced kid and 82 lbs kid to be used as "fresh meat" at their introductory class IN the adults class as well as to be thrown down by somebody double or triple their size and no instruction what so ever. Wow, is that how they motivate first timers looking forward to learn self defense? What do they care for?

Professional. World Champs rome these mats. Friendly. The kids classes are awesome. The students are all stellar .. friendly. The quality of the training experience in any academy comes from the top. Tanner, Matt and Sam Rice...worth spending a few sessions with them before you make a decision. We have good Jiu Jitsu in NorCal.. It's better to know your options through experience first.. before making the final decision. I could happily train at any of the academies in Redding... but I know one thing.. Rice Bros/Amazonas are the standard for the student who wants to go really far in BJJ. They have a very solid program for beginners. Blue belts and up will not be disappointed .. I am a casual practitioner of BJJ and I love this place.. the energy is the best.
