Awesome. Awesome. AWESOME. I just put my son in and joined him; it was so easy as these are come as you can, family classes. I haven't met anyone there, from the little girls flipping down the mats to Master Paul and KSN Megan, or the many black belts, brown belts and the other beginners that haven't completely wowed me. The practice is serious-- and seriously fun-- and I anticipate this will be a life-long study for us both. All we had to do was check out Master Paul's blog and we knew that we found the right teacher. I'm so grateful... and did I mention this is awesome?

Our family has been doing Kuk Sool Won with this studio for about 8 years and now we are all black belts. We love this martial arts because we can do it as a family - which is not only convenient, it's a great way to spend quality time together. As an adult I do it to as a form of exercise for both mind body. For my children it is about pushing themselves to do more and with quality. Kuk Sool Won has shown me and my children you can achieve great things when you persevere and work hard. Each class has various degrees (white to black) and ages (5 to 70) participating; you can't help but be encouraged and inspired. One of our instructors, Megan Carmody, won grand champion at tournament this year and we have had other grand champions come out of this studio; I know I am working with the some of the best.

As I age, the balance and falling skills I developed through my Kuk Sool Won training have served me well. Looking back, our family of four trained together, and supported each other attaining our Black Belts. It was fun & a great way to build family ties, especially during the teenage years. Kuk Sool Won encompasses many styles, training the brain as well as the body. I especially appreciate the underlying mutual respect Master Paul incorporates in every lesson.

I have known Master Paul Carmody for several years. He is dedicated to his teaching and students and has one of the best schools in the US. I highly recommend this school.

Avoid this school, Seriously. There are MUCH better Kuk Sool Won's in San Mateo and Mountain view. The owners daughter is a decent teacher, but unless you are under 10, the school owner here has all the charm and bedside manner of a hung-over coke addict. For someone who teaches respect and disipline, he has absolutely no respect for himself or others.
