Sifu Scott is an incredible teacher! The students that attend the school are great partners no matter what size you are or what shape you are in athletically. We take classes with all adults but they have kids classes as well. Beyond learning to defend myself in rigorous classes that not only engage me physically but mentally, I have learned the benefits of meditation and have seen a positive change in myself and my life overall. If you are looking to get a great workout, feel inspired, learn to defend yourself while improving the quality of aspect of your life this is the place for you. I highly recommend it!

Such a wonderful school. Great workout, fun and energizing class. Sifu Scott is a generous and engaging teacher. The students all look out for each other and are always helpful. I tried a million different work outs, and this is the only one I've stuck with.

I've visited many martial arts schools but this one is very special. Thanks to the instructor, Sifu Scott, the atmosphere is so inviting. This place is always alive when classes are in progress. The members are so kind and friendly to each other, respecting the awesome etiquette of the school. There isn't a person i dislike in this dojo. I feel safe there, at home and at peace. Free to learn a wonderful martial art that takes it's roots in Kung Fu, Jiu Jitsu, Aikido, Tai Chi and self defense. Sifu Scott's master, Sifu Brown, Has black belts in several martial arts and over 40 years of practice. once a year there is a 3 days retreat, one in Michigan and one here in Malibu, where all you do and mind blowing techniques in the middle of nature. A life changing experience. The dojo has the most incredible light. Super easy to access with tons of parking. More than a physical activity this is truly a mind and body connecting place. I've restored my inner balance there and strengthen my body as well as my character. I've become more patient, more compassionate and respectful to others. I would have never thought this practice could help me in so many aspects of my life. it happens there though. I encourage you to follow the same path and discover your true potential. Deepest gratitude to Sifu Scott for his guidance, patience, skills and charisma.

3 years ago, my son, who was 6 at the time said he wanted to do karate. Not really knowing anything about martial arts, I set up visits to 5 different martial arts schools in the area. After our first trial, my daughter, 9 at the time, decided she wanted to do the classes too. After all the trials, we settled on the School of Martial Arts, which actually teaches Kung Fu. What impressed me was the owner, Sifu Scott, who teaches all the classes, and his approach. He's fantastic with the kids, really understanding the ups and downs of practice. The approach is a well balanced development of discipline, work ethic, patience, focus and partner skills. The kids started in the Junior Wushu classes. They loved the pace and the "serious fun" they had in class. Now both my kids are in the Wushu "big kids" class and they love it. It's had a huge impact on my son's school work too. He's able to focus so much better on his homework and his teachers all say he pays really good attention at school, respecting their authority. And that's not all! After about 3 months, Sifu Scott started day time classes which I started going to. I was very happy to find something apart from just running or going to the gym. I loved learning all the self defense techniques (that I hope I never have to use!) and the other students are great. The attitude from the kids classes about working together as partners carries throughout the school. Everyone is there to help everyone else get better, so it's a very safe environment to learn in. I also really appreciate the focus on our internal work as much as our external work. My meditation practice, that had basically stopped when I had the kids, has resumed - leading to a much happier me (and therefore family!) Sifu's Thursday meditation talks and meditations are truly a joy to participate in. I loved it so much that I started to figure out how to get to some of the evening classes too. Then my husband realized that if he wanted to see any of us, he'd have to come too! He started with T'ai Chi classes and now does the Kung Fu classes too. So now all four of us take classes here, as do several of our kids' good friends. I can't say enough good things about this family we found to help us stay physically and mentally fit and well. Thanks Sifu Scott and all the students at the School of Martial Arts!
