Mark Mikita is the best martial arts instructor you're likely to ever find. I looked for years before I found him, and have never looked back. With a JKD-style approach to the martial arts, Mark pulls the most effective aspects of a huge variety of martial arts, inter-splicing kicking, striking, knees and elbows, joint locks, nerve attacks, throws, ground fighting, BJJ, and grappling. He's also the best practical weapons instructor you're likely to find, focusing on Kali/Eskrima stick and knife... He covers impact and bladed weapon craft and is working at a "Bobby Fischer" level of intelligence and knowledge. Unlike many, he can not only DO the martial arts, but he can teach it very well... Encouraging students to question what they learn. He's also adamant about developing training skills that allow you to be a good partner and train safely... Which then allows you to train with the more 'brutal' techniques, tactics and principles without fear of injury. This is an intelligent person's martial arts school... A place to come and really learn from a true master, in a great environment.

Guro Mark Mikita is a remarkable teacher, and a gifted martial artist. In the short time I have trained at the Mikita School of Martial Art Guro Mark has honed my skills in just a few months in what takes most people many months or even years. And he does this with everyone. And I am only getting better as a martial artist and also as a person. I should have started long ago. I live in north San Diego county and have changed and sacraficed thing s in my life to be able to train and be taught by Guro Mark Mikita. When you come to this school, You Have Found The Treasure.
