Great coaches and staff. They care about their students and everyone is very welcoming.

Since day 1, this has been one of the best life experiences I’ve had personally & we’ve had as a family. My son is 4yrs old and goes to the kids class 2x a week, I go to adult class 3x a week and on Saturday’s my little son and I take the Parents & Me class to have fun together and share the experience. It’s done wonders for my son’s focus and the perfect outlet for his high energy. He has so much fun. My comfort level with the staff & coaches has exceeded my initial expectations. I’ve personally shed pounds quickly, learning something new every day, felt completely respected since class #1 and it’s a helpful atmosphere. There are rules and a code of conduct in a Jiu Jitsu School, so you have to leave your ego outside the doors...you will get worked out hard, you’ll follow the instructions, have to keep up the best you can as you grow...but it’s done safely. (That’s the point!) No big ego trips & “tough guys only” attitudes like some of the reviews I’m reading. Makes me wonder if it’s their competition doing some of the short 1 star reviews. Highly recommend trying them out for yourself and formulating your own opinion. A+

I'm not sure why people are complaining about Morumbi Academy but from my experience their classes are conducted fairly well, but the instructor can be strict. Their program isn't like your typical Americanized martial arts and you do learn how to protect yourself... however, it's extremely hard to keep up with some of their classes as a beginner. Prices of their program is pretty expensive compared to other schools around the area. Overall they are not that bad but there are better BJJ schools!

I was recommended to try out the Gracie Morumbi for self defense for my son and was treated with complete disrespect from one of their head instructors. This place is ran like a cult, they will pretend to serve you under their best interest but reality they will try to brainwash you and your kids to give up everything for BJJ. Really disgusting environment.... definitely not the kind of martial arts school I would have your kids partake on.

Damn they beat up the new guys really bad here. I didn't feel a welcomed trying out a class. If you're into jiu jitsu and want to be a bad ass then this school might be a good fit for you but if you're just here to lose weight and come here to learn then you should look for another gym.
