Very welcoming and friendly place. Instructors are all very kind and knowledgeable. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because it's location is a bit far from my home.

The instructors are great. The classes are designed in such a way that students of all ages are a source of encouragement to other students. I love the energy of the class.

We absolutely love Folsom Academy. My 9 year old has learned so much from doing Tae Kwon Do. The skills he learns in class, also carry over to outside of class. He has become goal oriented and loves coming to class every week. Our instructors are all so supportive!

My 6-year-old daughter and I do taekwondo together here. It's a great place to be able to do a physical activity together regularly for the family, aside from seeing how my daughter has grown and learned as an individual from the friendly and supportive instructors.

Below are a few reasons why I gave such a low rating. I bought a Groupon without knowing what type of Martial Arts it was for, just to try it out. The website is outdated with very little information, not even the school name. The phone number listed on the website was no longer in service. We learned it was Taekwondo when we walked to the door for orientation. We learned that you earn your belts by attendance rather than by any measure of achievement. As long as you attend regularly, you will continue to be promoted toward a black belt regardless of how well you learn or perform. During our orientation for my child's membership, they pressed me to buy parent sessions as well. They applied pressure, and at first I hesitantly agreed. Later in the session I changed my mind, but they applied yet more pressure until I gave in just to be able to walk out the door. The next day, I contacted the business and requested a $20 refund and to return the uniform because I didn't want to waste money and uniform on parent sessions I had no interest in. After being denied I asked to speak to the head instructor. I was promised a call back from him, which never came. A place which seeks to teach discipline and has courtesy and integrity among it's tenets should be better at exhibiting these characteristics. For a place which also lists perseverance and indomitable spirit among it's tenets, they are unwilling to deal with something as minor as the complaint of an unsatisfied customer. I would be happier with the promised call back from the head instructor being a polite refusal than with simply no call back after being promised one on three occasions. In conclusion: High pressure up-selling, not good at customer satisfaction, does not practice what they preach.
