Without compromising tradition and high standards, the Eastern Ways staff is incredibly knowledgeable, patient and encouraging. Fellow students are welcoming and helpful to each other always, and as a newbie to martial arts I can tell you that the workout is the best all-around thing I've ever done for myself both mentally and physically. Everything about my experience with Eastern Ways has been positive; I absolutely recommend this school!

Before coming to Eastern Ways of Folsom for Tai Chi training, I had studied another martial art for over 10 years and my brother ran 2 schools in the greater Sacramento area. I KNOW quality when I see it! I had stopped training of any kind for almost 15 years because I didn't think I could find a school that was not a "McDojo". (Fast food of the martial Arts). Eastern Ways has met and exceeded my expectations for professionalism, quality of instruction, reasonable rates, a clean inviting training facility and a strong personal connection with its lineage in China. The words "respect" and "quality" define the Eastern Ways experience. If you are looking for the real deal, this is the place to find it.

Folsom Eastern Ways Martial Arts school has a great studio for Martial Arts. Great lineage. A wide variety to learn in both Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Lion Dancing and Dragon Dancing. They volunteer for Girl Scouts of America teaching young girls self defense. A family oriented school.

My 3rd grade son and I have been training at Eastern Ways Folsom for almost 3 years now. The instructors are very skilled in their arts and as teachers, the business in very professionally run, and it is a very effective was to learn kung fu and tai chi. I highly recommend them.

Pro's: Skilled instructors, great Tai Chi and cardio classes. Con's: While I do believe Choi Li Fut is a useful art, I was disapponted with their teaching approach. Your private lesson time is wasted learning useless 'self-defense techniques', rather than the fundamentals of Choi Li Fut. Too many techniques are strung together and taught at any one time to be properly learned. Private lesson time should be used teaching the movements, etc. one by one in meticulous fashion. You therefore end up learning the basics in the group class, where you should be practicing them. Sparring is a joke. Huge boxing gloves and light contact to the body only? Give me a break. Sorry, but I was not impressed with the skills of most of their students.
