I highly recommend Level Up Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The main instructor is a highly qualified master teacher of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, martial arts, and self-defense, and is a kind-hearted master of both BJJ and Karate. The school is a low-ego place so you can learn martial arts and self defense in a safe and enjoyable environment that you will want to return to time and time again. Highly recommended!!!

I love level up! I must say the biggest points that keep bringing me back are professor Erik's instruction, level of detail and dedication, the awesome community there(we go out together often outside of jiu jitsu), and the look/feel of this studio. After one year we have a solid amount of people and more to come, but the best part about being relatively new is that if you are starting brand new, you can really grow alongside everyone and not have to feel alone during the whole process. If community wasn't enough Professor Erik's and Coach Alex's way of teaching allows for even very technical moves to be broken down and understand easily. If you're at all interested, I implore you to come visit! If nothing else I'm sure you'll enjoy meeting Frankie (; (she's really sweet)

After moving back from NY, I was looking for a place to continue my training in LA. I tried out multiple schools in and around West LA for the first few months, but I kept finding myself coming back to Level Up. From the welcoming environment to Professor Erik's attention to detail, Level Up was the best fit for me. During my time here, not only has my jiu-jitsu grown but I've also made some awesome friends. The best part of Level Up, however, is Frankie, the resident bulldog that will greet you with a snort and nuzzle at every training!

Learning jiu jitsu at Level Up has drastically improved my life after only 2 months of fundamentals training twice a week. The atmosphere at LVLUP is very friendly (like family), and everyone I've trained with knew how to control their intensity and offered advice and suggestions. It's great for both self-defense and fitness, and it'll change your life as long as you fully commit!
