You won't find a better teacher than Sifu Brian Hester. The guy is very devoted to the art/science of Wing Chun and great at imparting his knowledge to his students. The environment of the school is energetic and the students friendly and welcoming. Gary Lam Wing Chun is awesome to watch. Check it out on You Tube and see if you don't agree! Honestly, you wont find a better place.

If you are looking for a place that will push you to your physical and mental limits, then this is it. No pain, no gain. Focus, determination and discipline describe not only the instructor, but each and every student at OC Wing Chun. This is not your average, buy the belt, learn some moves and pretend you feel comfortable defending yourself type of martial arts school. After only a few classes you can feel the difference. You find yourself practicing the actions and forms in the shower, at work, driving in the car and eventually in your sleep. The reactions and discipline behind the core fundamentals of Wing Chun become an extension of your brain and everyday thought process. Brian describes the reasoning behind each action and form and tells you not only the practical application but the spiritual one as well. I have not felt more welcome in a place I am foreign to such as this in a very long time. If you are looking for the real deal, look no further. - Evan

I have recently signed on as a student of this school. After reviewing many others, I selected this school for a multitude of reasons. This is a clean and bright facility. The students are incredibly friendly and helpful. Many students have been training together for several years but there isn't the feeling of exclusivity. Even if you are the shy type, they will go out of there way to greet you and offer any assistance then can provide. Every night there is a pairing up of students, so you will eventually get to know everyone there. Sifu Brian has a kind and thoughtful demeanor and gives personal attention to every one of his students. (I have observed another school where the instruct plays a recording during warm up exercises! Makes me crazy.) At no point will you feel overwhelmed or intimidated at the instruction given. As far as pricing goes, you will find it fair and reasonable, with no hidden fee's. You do not feel the teacher trying to milk you for every penny as your progress throughout your training. There are no belts or "tests" to speak of. The price you pay is just for the training. And you can train as much as your time allows. The class structure is also very open and flexible with time schedules. There are large block periods of training periods are available. Whether you train for 1 hour or for 4 hours, it is completely up to you. I enthusiastically recommend GARY LAM Wing Chun - Costa Mesa ! EDIT: No one here has heard of this Ken A guy

I've been training with this school for over two years having previously trained under a different sifu in the UK. Gary Lam's teaching methods are highly regarded throughout the world off Wing Chun so I have to assume previous review come from someone who has no experience or domain knowledge. Our Sifu is an excellent teacher who's been around various martial all his life. Finally it's worth mentioning that everyone who trains here refers to it as "our club" & you wont meet a nicer group, no attitudes just genuine people who are willing to help you learn and grow as your kung-fu brother/sister Kelly Robinson

I disliked my experience at this place (also called Gary Lam Wing Chun). I just didn't get a very good feeling from the instructor. It seemed as though he lacked experience in Wing Chun.
