Gracie Barra Santa Barbara is a great school. I worked in Santa Barbara last summer on a contract. I'm a white belt from Pennsylvania and really enjoyed my experience there. The instructors are excellent and the atmosphere is just wonderful. What a friendly school. Whenever I get back to the West Coast I will visit again. I recommend this school to anyone.

My 10yo daughter loved it! All instructors are wonderful, thoughtful, sensitive and fun. They really work so well with the kids. My child started with reservations about starting martial art training, and now she looks like a born fighter. The classroom culture is safe, friendly and supportive of each child.

I have been training with Professor Rodrigo for over 4 years. This is a great school because everyone is very friendly and supportive. People of all ages train, some who just want to get in good shape but also guys looking to train for tournaments. Each class consists of a warm up, a stand up technique and then a few ground moves. Each week is dedicated to a certain position, and we go through new moves and details each day. In the advanced class we get at least thirty minutes of spar time. Overall, great place to train, no big egos and plenty of fun!

I have been training at Gracie Barra Santa Barbara for the past year. I cannot say enough good things about this place and the people who run it. They have a great schedule with multiple classes that I can choose from throughout the day. Both Professor Rodrigo and Coach Ighor have been amazing to learn from, and are great just to be around. I have found the other students to be very considerate and helpful. I am in awe of this place and how much fun I have had.
