Not enough nice things to say about paragon! It has always been a home away from home, and To say that the vibe there is a well knit and very open armed family is an understatement, with great instruction from several skilled black belts. The amount of instructors there are enough to balance out the high volume of students, making everyday a learning experience, where you actually feel like you're getting very personalized instruction. There's also such a great variety of people who attend the school there, from all sorts of different fields in Santa Barbara- from doctors and lawyers, to surfers to students, you're bound to make great friends and then know a ton of people around town! Oh and Don't forget the tough training! Theres a body type for everybody, and whether you compete, want to get in shape, or just come to enjoy the vibe, you're in the right place!

I was excited for my children to attend their summer anti bully program... They just called me that they canceled it due to not enough children in the program, then don't advertise! Now I need figure out what to do with my children, a week before this program was suppose to begin!

I just celebrated my 1 year anniversary at Paragon. I'd marveled at jiu-jitsu and been wanting to learn for years - even drove by the place a few times. I didn't have a wrestling or martial arts background, was getting older, and felt a bit intimidated. Joining has been one of the best decisions I've made. The instructors are amazing. Other members - sooo nice and supportive. Since joining, I've lost 40 pounds, removed 3 prescriptions (cholesterol, blood pressure, depression) from my daily routine and have (I think) become a better husband, father and manager. YRMV, but its been transformative for me and I hope it remains part of my life 10 years from now. Thank-you Paragon!

The best place to train in town. Very beginner friendly and welcoming to guests.

If it weren't for the managements cut throat approach to membership/cancellations, this would actually be a good spot to train. After having surgery (9 months into my 1 year contract) I told one of the owners I no longer wanted to train (wanted to let it heal/not go back to jitsu). He had the nerve to tell me "you shouldn't have signed a contract with me"... Wow... I've had several friends who also trained at Paragon who no longer train there for similar reasons. The instruction was good, facilities top notch (showers and weight room) but the owners business ethics were the deal breaker for me. I couldn't give them a dollar more and recommend you don't either! Edit- They state they have a 30 day cancellation policy but they do not... Unless you're moving out of town then this doesn't apply to you. They simply sent the remainder of my account to the collections agency the work with...
