Jul 30, 2017
I was looking for a capoeria class to visit while on our trip to California. This capoeria class looked like they knew how to teach kids. The studio is small and clean and website nicely done. But as we took the first class I was very unimpressed and disappointed with the style of teaching of the kids class. I had paid for 4 classes thinking after the first class it would get better...but it didn't. My son has been in capoeria for a year and he was teaching him like it was his first class. For what they charge ($60 per 4 classes) and what is taught @ 45 minute class is a rip off. The instructor doesn't willfully communicate with the parents instead communicates through their children leaving the parent having to research their site for clarification and still my son was given the wrong information for a saturday class that was included in the package. I called their number to find out where the saturday class was being held and as usual no one picks up. The funny thing is there is a child who practices at this place for over a year and her basic form on ginga was terrible. My son has better form and knowledge of movements. Parents who bring in their kids should do their homework on what their kid is being taught and progression of their kids performance. I am so glad to never take my son back there, as our 4 classes are up and our vacation here is over. Bottom line: I wasted time and money. Don't waste yours.
