I've been training with Syracuse Martial Arts Academy for about 9 years now and have loved every second of it! I was a little nervous at first since I've never practiced martial arts before - luckily everyone here is friendly and helpful, making a new experience much easier. The instructors are very knowledgeable and are always teaching us new ideas. Overall, if you're looking to try out for the first time or continue your training, this is a wonderful place to train and work with some really great people!

Syracuse Martial Arts Academy is a top quality martial arts school that produces excellent students. We specialize in competitive and non-competitive combat arts both modern and traditional. We're very family oriented and it doesn't have that "gym" feel. It's a comfortable place to come and work hard and find a new part of yourself!

Both instructors are very knowledgeable about their respective systems. Each teach their syllabus with real world application in mind so their students feel confident in their skills. They are excellent teachers that encourage learning in a friendly but challenging atmosphere.

I have been training at Syracuse Martial Arts Academy for over 14 years now, and have been involved in Martial Arts off and on for almost 30 years. SMAA is dedicated to teaching self defense skills that will be effective in real world situations. The instructors work to help students improve, while letting them progress at their own speed. Classes are offered in three different systems, so everyone can find something that is a good fit for them, be it more an empty handed style, or weapons related classes. Additionally, there is a program for anyone interested in applying their skills to tournament competition. The school has a true family feel, and I count some of the people there among my closest friends. My son has also started training in the past year, and I can't wait to watch his progress! I would highly recommend SMAA to anyone wanting to find a friendly, welcoming place to learn some truly valuable life skills while having a really great time.

I have been training in martial arts for over ten year. In that time I've trained in about a half dozen different places. I have been with SMA for the last year and a half and in that time I have found a great group to train with. The people are very supportive and the instructors are knowledgable, practical, and open minded. They welcome everyone and push them to be their best and I am very happy to have the opportunity to train here and very much recommend it.
