I started training here in late 2013, and I don't think I'll ever stop. It's ridiculously inexpensive when compared to other martial arts schools, but the level of expertise is easily worth many times as much. There are lots of other members, so there's no shortage of people to practice with. There are also enough senseis that you never feel ignored. There's always somebody to help you, and give personalized instruction based on their experience and unique style. On another hand, I've lost more weight, and gained more strength and endurance in the few months I've been a member than I have in probably my entire life. If health is your angle, then you'd be hard pressed to find a better way to get in shape. You'll work muscles you didn't even know you had. Nothing but positive things to say about this club.

I have trained at many great clubs including Olymic training centers like the Jason Morris Judo Center, but I think that Bushido Kai is one of the most well-rounded clubs you will find. Whether your are interested in competition or just recreation, you will find solid technique and training here. Rank requirements are some of the most in-depth I have seen. You will NOT be ashamed to wear your Bushido Kai earned belt color when you visit another dojo. Membership dues are VERY reasonable for any fitness class and even more resonable when you see what other martial arts clubs usually charge. Normal adult judo classes meet twice a week but once you know your breakfalls there are many additional classes in the mornings and weekends to get extra practice in. Kids' classes are some of the best run kids' activities that I've seen, and many of these youngsters will give me a run for my money if I'm not careful. This club is one of the things that will keep me in the Rochester area for some time to come.

I have been training there since april 2000 and it has been one of the best experiences of my life. Its a non-profit club which means its not expensive and everyone there is very friendly and focused on Judo. We compete regularly at tournaments for every level competitor...from local to international, and our instructors and students have taken national and international titles. The workouts are intense and the instruction is top quality. I encourage everyone to come check out a class and see if its right for them. Cheers.
