Rothrock's is more than a martial arts studio. It's a community. I have been attending Tai Chi classes since summer. Good physical and mental exercise. All the instructors are pleasant and patient. I go a couple times a week and it has been very beneficial.

My son and I have both been training at Rothrock’s for years, and highly recommend them. The staff is incredible - patient and knowledgeable, funny and kind, all-around great people. It feels like a family. I’ve always been impressed with how well they interact with children and make hard work fun. We love being there.

Outstanding place! All the way from the teachers to the staff at the front desk. When I joined in 2010, I was amazed to see how well the coaches interacted with the students on an individual level. No matter your level of personal fitness, they are very encouraging and want to see you succeed. The same goes for the other studios, they all carry a high level of professionalism. Even when it comes to the children's classes, the staff reinforces proper values such as honor and respect towards others. It's so nice to see the younger students (little dragons) shake the coaches hands and thank them. Master Rothrock, Sifu White, Mr. Solito, and the rest of the well trained staff are hands down some of the most professional people I've ever been around. Thank you for everything.

From the second I walked in I knew I was in for a treat. Every single person is so polite, respectful, and willing to teach. Every month is a change in style so if you're not good at a particular step or combination, you won't be suffering for long. I play soccer and rock climb and the leg strength and balance I've obtained in the 3 months I've been there have me so excited to see how strong I can be when I actually get good at what I'm doing. The training is easy enough that you can do at home to practice and workout and the people are friendly enough that you will likely go in shy and alone but leave with a friend and workout partner. - Update - I've now been here for more than 2 years. Climbers who haven't climbed with me in a while compliment me on my muscle and body control which I most attribute to those very lessons which are taught in class. Curriculum has changed since I started which is refreshing so that you know they're not recycling the same techniques and lessons over and over again. I have since stopped playing soccer of which I've been apart of since I was 4 (27 years worth of experience) because I found more love and benefits in Kung Fu at Rothrock's. I can't thank or praise this team enough in Southside for the well-being they've given me these last few years. In addition, my training partner whom I met at my first lesson is now part of my wedding which goes to show the type of bonds you can have from your classmates as well.

After moving to Pittsburgh I researched martial arts studios for weeks and visited several until I found Sifu Rothrock's Kung Fu. The staff was friendly and informative, more than happy to talk and answer questions and I walked away knowing for a fact that this was where I wanted to be. Me and my best friend took the three introductory classes and immediately signed on for a year of training and I've never regretted it. The instructors are knowledgeable and helpful, keeping the whole class moving along while still finding time for individual instruction throughout. They don't just stop being friendly once they have your money either. Every day when I get to the studio I'm greeted by name with a smile and the instructors are happy to talk after class as well.
