I have been attending Coach Bob's gym for a little over a year now. I have had the desire to find a boxing gym for several years in the Norwin area that could accommodate my work schedule and I have been extremely happy with the gym. Bob has taught me everything since I went in with little actual knowledge of boxing. He teaches everyone starting at the basics to build a solid foundation for all their boxing skills. The classes are great for getting in shape and learning true boxing skills each week. The skills and drills Bob teaches has prepared me to spare and get in the best shape of my life since being a college student-athlete. My favorite part about the gym is the people. Everyone I have met has been extremely nice and welcoming. I am so happy I found this gym and know I have also found some great friends.

Learning how to box at Coach Bob's gym has been a great experience. The atmosphere is professional and relaxed. Members are focused, friendly, and helpful. Bob is very knowledgeable and knows how to coach people at all experience levels. There are no gimmicks, just a dedication to learning the art of boxing. If you are looking for a way to get into excellent shape and learn a useful skill, then I highly recommend training with Coach Bob.

As a female looking to be taken seriously at a boxing gym, I''ll admit I was a little stressed and hesitant, especially given past experiences. I've been to gyms where the guys are arrogant and out to prove their dominance, where other females are so intimidated that it's unwelcoming and where the instructor or coach is unwilling to listen to your goals and take you seriously. I've been at Pittsburgh Martial Arts & Boxing Academy for over a year now and not only my views of gyms but my boxing skills have changed. This gym is a great place to learn with classes filled with people who care to train and care about each other. I never saw myself sparring with guys, taking shots and giving them AND I never thought I'd take my boxing skills even further and start kickboxing. I feel like I could say so much more about how awesome my gym is, but I'll leave it here: If you want to learn to box (FOR REAL, not "i love kickboxing"), build dependable relationships, set goals and crush them, then I'll see you there.

I was nervous at first about going to a martial arts gym because I had no idea what I was doing! I got to watch a class before I started and saw that everyone was really engaged and focused on what they were doing. Bob worked with everyone throughout the training and gave pointers on improving technique and form. I soon started and damn, every muscle in my body got worked! Going to his martial arts class taught me more discipline and improved my confidence. I saw muscle build as I felt like my butt got kicked after every session! Bob is able to teach you whatever you need including weapons self defense, training for fights, or just training to get in shape. I like the variety of heavy bags and free weights to train on. I will def continue to train with him and recommend him to my friends or anyone interested in really learning martial arts.

If you are willing to work hard, listen and really push yourself, this is the place for you. Coach Bob is so knowledgeable and is willing to teach anyone who really wants to learn a skill. I have worked out at many locations and to be 100% honest this place may not be the prettiest, but the caliber of coaching and teaching that goes on are world class! Not too mention the group that trains here are all awesome people! Best shape of my life, thanks coach Bob!
