The best place to learn and train. One of the few schools left that really focus on self defense martial art rather than sport martial arts. I used to train at other places such as Ephrata Martial Arts and it doesn't hold a candle to this place. Not all martial arts gyms are created equal and if you are looking to get good fast this is the place to go. The instructor Tom has amazing in depth knowledge of a variety of martial arts and self defense methods as well as being a very nice and fun guy. Everyone that comes here is cool and easy to get along with. He has been training for decades under many legitimate instructors such as Dan Inosanto (Bruce Lee's protege), Relson Gracie (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu), Paul Vunak, Matt Thornton (trained Conor McGregor's coach as well as UFC stars Randy Couture and Forrest Griffin) amongst others listed on his web site. If you are serious about your martial arts and self defense capabilities as well as getting a great workout in, then you need to check out Get Real Martial Arts ASAP.

I've studied under all kinds of high level martial arts experts, and have had excelent experiences. In this time I have in particular trained under expert and master-level Jeet Kune Do practitioners, and the instructor of Get Real Martial Arts is second to no one!!! An excelent and truely gifted teacher, Tom Ridgeway maintains an ego free environment in his school, which allows him to pass on excelent martial arts technique. He has a thurough understanding of the intricasies that make a technique effective. If you are looking at martial arts instruction, you will surely see different ''flavours'' of training. ''Get Real'' uses the principle of Aliveness. Everything is done safely, and no one who is uncomfortable or unready is ever made to do anything they don't feel good doing, but the principle of aliveness basically entails that students learn by practicing the martial arts against a fully resisting opponent-rather than throwing punches and kicks at the air. There are many health benefits to training at this facility, but this isn't a health club! What you will learn is how to defend yourself or fight in real time, against a real opponent who is not going to sit there let you do what you want to do! Whether the goal is to get in better shape, learn REAL functional self defense that works, or even compete as a martial artist, this is a great place to learn! The martial arts here are focused on a street altercation-so if you want to compete you will be responsible to convert the skill you develop in a competition friendly manner.
