Knoxville's only authentic samurai school and culture center which focuses on the language, history and wartime strategies of Japan's warring periods of 700's - late 1600's before Japan hit peacetime and sport martial arts were developed.

You will learn a lot if you stick with it. In everything, Japanese culture too. Not just the bijinkan system, but everything. You might even see the stories Hollywood does in a whole new light, or what is really just Hollywood. The instructor is very knowledgeable, and will tell you what is wrong when a kata or form is improperly executed. Which can be very important in a myriad of situations. And the instructor is easy to get in touch if you need to. It isn't easy to learn the system, but he does a good job at helping you learn it.

This class has been amazing! Michael is very effective at explaining techniques, always positive, and always encouraging! Everyone is very respectful and helpful. Even on your first session, you feel very welcomed! Musei Tora Bujinkan is the ONLY class I would every recommend to anyone.

I have a lot of fun in class and learning the history of where the art came from is a nice bonus to me. Weapons are also integrated from the get go. What we learn is actual self-defense and combat, not just route memorization of a kata. Highly recommended.

The time I had with Sensei Cody was truly unforgettable. His hands on training will allow you to grasp what you at first cannot. Under his tutelage not only will you leave the dojo with outstanding self defense training. But, you will also leave bettering yourself.
