Cooper MMA has good instruction but poor management. I cancelled my membership last year via email and it was confirmed. Two months later, my recurring payments resumed for several months (though I never had returned to Cooper MMA). I emailed Sean Cooper and facebooked him and the gym and never heard any response. My Bank was only able to reverse two of the charges as fraudulent due to timing. This felt like theft as I have still not heard anything back from them to resolve the issue and they still have money from my account after I cancelled. It has been very frustrating. I recommend staying away from this company as it has very shady business practices (or at a minimum, negligent ones).

Excellent facility with a warm and inviting team atmosphere. I would recommend them to anyone in North Austin for high quality combat sport training.

I went in late May 2017 to purchase a belt for my son's Gi. They informed me that I could purchase the belt from them, but they would have to order it and it would be there "in a few days". After 2 weeks of hearing nothing, I went in to inquire about the whereabouts of the belt I had purchased. They told me they were expecting a truck by the end of the week and they would contact me. After not hearing anything, I went back in. The lady told me she "doesn't handle that stuff" and had to contact whoever does. Its been over 2 months now and I have yet to hear anything from anyone. They have my phone number and email address. Calling the listed phone number always gets me a voicemail which I have left several messages on with no return call. Granted, the belt was only $20. While everyone I've interacted with has been very polite. I'm leaving a bad review because of the severe lack of customer service. I guess they can just keep the $20. I've already purchased the belt elsewhere. Practice better follow up techniques please

Best gym in town hands down. I have been training there for 3 years and you couldn't ask for a more friendly and helpful staff than you could find here. Sean the owner is extremely knowledgeable and helpful also. The environment is super inviting and there are no egos in this gym which makes for a fun training atmosphere.

Been training with Sean and his black belts for about a year. I can honestly say that the people that attend and run this gym have to be the coolest group to work with! If you're into martial arts or just want to loose some weight, take their free first class. Their jiu jitsu classes are great, fun and efficient! They even have basics classes for people who don't know much about the sport. World class boxing and muay thai classes too! Definitely a no ego zone!
