If I could rate this "business" negative stars I would! The owner (Ron Williams) of Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan, Houston is very rude and unprofessional! He thinks it's appropriate to yell at, embarrass, and demean a 5 year old girl. This was my daughter's Kindergarten year and her first experience in a martial arts class. She wanted to take the class because her older brother has taken it for the last 2 years after school. On this day, Ron Williams decides to pop up at my daughters school and pick on and bully her as well as other children in the class. He is not her regular instructor but the owner so none of the kids know him or have interacted with him prior. He was essentially a stranger. He repeatedly picked on and bullied her throughout the hour long class to the point of uncontrollable crying. He called her "loser" and several times suggested she and other kids in the class "be a winner and not a loser". When I picked my daughter up from Karate this day she was visibly upset with tears in her eyes. I asked her what was wrong and she couldn't even speak. I relied on my son to tell me what happened. As my son explained what occurred during class- the instructor- approached me and verified what he said. He acknowledged the situation by saying " I apologize, he was very hard on her" He then offered Ron Williams phone number for me to call him. When I called him about said interaction with my daughter, he yelled at me and shouted "You don't know me!" before he hung up on me. I have pulled my kids out of karate and I advise you not to patronize an establishment that caters to youth but lacks the basic patience and respect to deal with your child. You'll regret it. I later left a review on his facebook business page and instead of owning up to his actions, addressing it and apologizing, he removed the negative review. I think that speaks volumes for the owner and his business's ethics.
