I always wanted to take krav maga and I'm glad I found this place and Katrina is the best. Her honesty and straight forwarded words is what motivates me and pushes me to train hard all the time. I have not been able to attend do to personal things but I will return and to anyone who is looking for a self defense class I 100% recommend this place.

In a few words…..KM | CC SLC: serious, fun, energizing, intense, high expectation, community, friendship, physical-mental, respect, practice perfect, challenging, tradition.  Bring your talent and drive to excel ... this will be a very different & rewarding experience.

Contact combat Salt Lake City is the place for me. I have been looking for solid instruction in Krav Maga for quite sometime now. What I noticed right off was it was a nice and clean environment to train in the style. The classes are not overly huge where you feel overwhelmed or lost in the instruction. Last but not least, the instruction is top notch. I do not feel that I am just floating along with the classes. There is on the spot help with any questions about the topics being taught. I do look forward to going to this class.

I gave trained here since 2011. The class is adult-focused (no one under 18) and is a good fit for working professionals who want to practice martial arts. The class takes a holistic approach to Krav Maga, blending an in-depth focus on technique with a variety of body conditioning excercises. Krav Maga has a reputation for viciousness, and rightly so. This class is a great way learn how to defend yourself and others. But Kat pays careful attention to safety in class to prevent people from being hurt while they're training. The only downside is the space in which we train. can be a little constricting, especially on particularly hot days. But it's worth that discomfort, and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a fun and rewarding place to learn martial arts.

I started looking for good Krav Maga instruction about a year ago, and ended up attending a class at most of the gyms around Salt Lake. While I can say I generally liked the classes I took at the other schools, I could inherently feel that Katrina's (Kat) school was a cut above the rest. After nearly eight full months of instruction, I can say that initial impression was correct. Kat's classes (and Kat herself) can be a little intimidating when you first start. Kat is a straight to the point transplant from New York. She is small in stature, but I have no doubt that she could beat me to a bloody pulp. Kat takes Krav Maga very seriously and expects you and your classmates to do the same. At the same time, however, Kat genuinely cares about her students and their welfare, and she works hard to help her students learn Krav Maga safely and effectively. The result is that, if you are nervous during your first class, you will soon get over it and start to feel right at home. If you decide to train at Contact Combat SLC, you will not be treated as just another fee paying body coming through the door. I have watched Kat take breaks during instruction to make sure each student understands the movements being taught. I have also watched Kat take time before and after class to help students understand or work through a specific technique they may be struggling with or to provide other training advice. And I have been on the receiving end of this additional instruction myself. Contact Combat SLC is not a place to come if you are merely looking to lose a few pounds (although this has been a nice side-effect for some of us students). It is not a place you can come to hang out in the back of the class and tell your friends you are working towards a black belt. Contact Combat is a place to learn real Krav Maga, from a real instructor, who will go to great pains to help you learn if you are willing to put in the work. Give it a try!
